Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaOur only dissatisfaction was the room was stuffy, acknowledging that it is summer and our room faced west and the afternoon sun, so probably a very short term problem..With no opening window, we propped our door open and let some fresh air in.
Easy check in, friendly staff, everything was clean and tidy. Bed very comfortable with nice linen. Moxies Restaurant was great, good staff, lovely range of food. Being on the train line worked for us too, made it easy to get to the places we wanted to see.

CanadaThe bed was very uncomfortable. I could feel the springs while lying down. The bed is a big deal for me in hotels. They seemed to vacuum the carpet but I think the building is too old and there was that lingering smell from the carpet. There were stains in the sheets and ai wondered if it's because they are too old, or if they were not clean! I was not able to control the AC in the room and ended up covering with bathrobe. Why wasn't there a duve on the bed? I literally had half pillows!
I liked the location. The staff were great.

United KingdomThe bathroom is a little small. The facilities teams do start preparing other rooms a bit early and aren’t really that quiet. The availability of the room on arrival was a little disappointing (5pm), especially after a 9-hour flight. Small things and it is appreciating there a lot of rooms available in the hotel and need preparing. The additional parking costs were really high (although not managed by the hotel but a parking company)
The room was comfortable. The extra room facilities such as the fridge, microwave and coffee machine were a welcome addition. The help with the room rate query we had was appreciated and the booking rate was honoured. The reception team were lovely and very helpful.

The hotel is downtown and in front of the metro. It's close to everything and many attractions are walkable from it! Very clean and friendly staff, including the housekeepers. Coffee and tea in the rooms, which I always appreciate. Highly recommend it and would stay again!

AustraliaPaper cups in the room for tea and coffee. No daily room clean. One housekeeping we did get was a change of towels, rubbish emptied no fill up of tea, coffee, or new paper cups!😳 For what you pay for a room surely we we can be provided a coffee mug!
