Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe place could use a couple of updates/renovations; just on some of the things that wear over time, or date with the passing years - especially in the woods. But nothing major: the bugs were bad, but that’s just the way it is this time of year in Muskoka. For families with young children, it would be nice If there was more of a beach area, but again, the pool is great for them.
The location is lovely; nice view of the beautiful lake. Our room was right on the water. It was quiet (but might be because it was pre-season), but it was nice for sleeping. The room was, large clean and well-appointed. While it wasn’t spanking new, there was a small kitchenette, fridge, toaster, corkscrew, coffee maker, coffee, tea, full dish set, dish soap, microwave, kettle, dustpan/broom, hairdryer, dishcloth, plenty of facecloths, towels, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, soap, extra toilet paper. There was a small seating area next to the kitchenette with a high-top table and 3 chairs, a small sofa, an armchair, a smart tv, wifi, a DVD player, A/C & heating. The couch was a double pull-out there were extra pillows and blanket in the closet. The bedroom was spacious had a large bed, dresser, 2 nightstands with lamps and a rocking chair. There were also a couple of closets with 2 robes in it on. The bathroom was large and clean with a deep tub/shower and wide counter and bright lighting. There was a screened-in front mudroom type area, and a small front deck with a small cafe set on it as well as 3 Muskoka chairs a few meters in front of the room that looked out onto the water. There was a small stream running by our building and a series of decks joined around the lakefront. The front board walk wrapped around the other buildings and came around the front of the restaurants and pool area. There were rows of chaise lounges on the lower deck and stairs leading up to the pool with outdoor seatings areas and what looked to be an outdoor bar that likely is open in the busy season. The pool area was quiet and clean warmer than the lake. The grounds are nice, some landscaping, but overall feels like you’re in the woods. The main reception building is newer, with bags of complementary ice, snacks for sale (ice cream bars, drinks, chips, candy), some health/beauty items, a bathroom, some merch and a shelf with free DVDs on it.

Canada- Pool was not maintained well. Pool needed skimming throughout the day, and the water looked cloudy, because of the amount of people using it. Interlocking around the pool was old, so mud was inside the hot tub. - Beds were uncomfortable and for such a large master bedroom, the bed should be a King size in this day and age. Could use a second or larger pool, because, that’s where families with toddlers mostly congregated. Great demand for the pool. - couches and kitchen high top table were really beat up and need to be updated.
- Location (stunning views) - Everything was conveniently located - Spacious Rooms - Great wait staff and the food was very good at all of the restaurants. - Amazing inflatable obstacle course for the kids, my son loved it (more supervision is recommended). - low traffic around the Marina, so it was safe for kids. - Snacks sold at the front desk. This could be expanded for more essentials.

CanadaWe did not like the large group of friends that were staying at the resort during the time we were. They were loud and very over bearing in the common areas; playing music loudly so we couldn’t even have a conversation while relaxing in the dock. They acted like they owned the place, we couldn’t believe the nerve of them. We wished there was staff from Rocky Crest monitoring this behaviour. We didn’t see anyone in sight. We were also not the only people who found this extremely disrespectful.
We loved the water park for our kids. They had endless fun! We really enjoyed the laid back, family friendly environment and our kids met plenty of friends to play with. The beds were extremely comfortable which is a game changer for future travel to Rocky Crest. We will definitely be returning next summer.

CanadaThe condo/ hotel architecture is out of place in the rustic setting. The building belongs in the downtown of a big city. There was anobvious lack of communication between the hotel, restaurant and other guest services. When I made certain requests at the front desk, I was told they would be looked after but the requests were never passed on. My complaint about an annoying, constant beeping sound from the next room was ignored. The noise finally stopped after someone had checked into that unit. I think the fridge door had been left open.

CanadaIt’s hard to find anything not to like. There were a couple of small negatives about the room, which were specific to Room 74. - The loft bedroom was very dim with only one bedside lamp for the entire open floor. A couple more lamps are needed. - There was a wasp nest in the exterior window frame and three wasps found their way into the room including the bed. We informed staff who indicated they would take care of the nest. - The bed frame was loose and very squeaky. - A smart TV with Netflix for the bedroom would also have been more convenient.
Location is excellent. Comfortable suites. Beautiful property and waterside activities. Good food and beverage amenities. Friendly and helpful staff.

CanadaWe would have loved was to have some more choices of fresh foods on the menu, and not only "fried and finger foods". The fact that only a breakfast buffet for a steep $ 18.95 was available does not satisfy the guests. There should have been some ala carte breakfast items available. We experienced some sad moments where the servers were so overwhelmed that people sat at dirty tables, and tables and floors were not cleaned immediately.
We liked the facilities of the pool and beach with beach towels and chairs available at all times. Also, we liked the two-bedroom suite which was spacy and cosy. The Golf Clubhouse was a delightful place to enjoy our lunches and dinners. The parking available was plentiful and accessible.

Canada- Hot tub that was advertised was under construction - Pool wasn’t heated as advertised and was filthy and cloudy - Advertised breakfast till 10. At 9:35 am the staff at Bayside restaurant told us breakfast was over. - Ribs dinner horrible and tough. - Access to chalet was down 3 flights of stairs, down an embankment with no railings and then across rocky terrain. Dangerous for seniors over 70. - The place advertised 3 restaurants open for takeout or patio. Only One was open until Friday when Ontario opened inside dining. Resort is very expensive for what they offered. Bayside restaurant was overpriced. No food included, not even breakfast. No supplies or restaurants within 12 km to buy food or dine out. Make sure to bring enough for family.
Our suite was clean and modern and had gorgeous views over lake. Loved that it’s dog friendly. Great water play centre for kids. On the Friday they opened Windows fine dine restaurant. It has beautiful views over the lake. Food was excellent. First class.
