We liked everything about our stay at Tara and Dave’s place, starting with the coziness and beautiful design of the interior to the super comfy king size bed. The kitchen was well equipped and the couch and TV were perfect to relax in the evening after a long day out in nature. The communications with the hosts was effortless and they replied very quickly to any of our requests (they made it even possible to check-in at noon which was great for us!)

We had an amazing stay at this suite! The place is spacious, bright, and spotlessly clean, making us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cookware and utensils you could need, which made cooking a breeze. We especially loved the outdoor grill—great for a relaxing BBQ evening. The living room has a cozy vibe, a cute fireplace, and the couch set is perfect for group or family activities. The decor and little subtle details around the place added such a welcoming touch. Plus, the host even left a welcome gift on the counter, which was such a kind gesture. We truly enjoyed our stay here and would 100% recommend it to others. We will definitely come back to this place the next time we visit Nanaimo!

There wasn’t much to not like about the property.

Everything about the living arrangements was thoughtful, the fine attention to a comfortable stay was very much appreciated. The hosts were also very responsive. Definitely felt like home after a good day of hiking in the provincial parks / exploring all that Nanaimo has to offer.

We had a lovely stay here at the apartment. The apartment itself is beautiful and made for a very comfortable stay. We met Tara, one of the owners who greeted us when we arrived and she was super friendly. We loved all the little touches the owners had gone to such as the tray with breakfast/ snacks on provided, it really made us smile. Our only wish was that we had been in the area longer as we only got one night to appreciate the lovely apartment. Can’t recommend this property to people enough! Thank you very much Tara and Dave.

Sofa bed could use a roll-out foamie for the top as it's L-shaped and uses the existing cushions + a pullout section. But I am a light sleeper and have a fussy back, most folks would probably do fine.

We can't thank Tara and Dave enough! We were travelling with our 84 year old father with Parkinson's for a family celebration of life in Qualicum. He is wheelchair-bound and has been living in care for the past 18 months. This was his biggest trip in over five years and my sister and I really deliberated whether to take him on such a daunting adventure. Hotels were charging around $800 for wheelchair accessible rooms for two nights and Dad would have no privacy in a two-queen room. I found Pleasant Valley Vacation Rental on Booking.com and snapped it up. Tara was a great communicator, and her dad had lived in the suite and used a wheelchair so we had a lot of confidence it would work. Tara met us when we arrived and gave us the full tour. I had mentioned I have Celiac disease (no gluten via wheat, barley, or rye, which is in a LOT of foods) and she had researched Celiac, talked with friends, and created a breakfast basket that was 100% gluten free; had researched restaurants for me; had disinfected the entire kitchen and moved the toaster and toaster oven into cabinets to eliminate crumbs. I was SO grateful - I'm often treated like a big pain in the keister with celiac. I've never met a more thoughtful host. She even has a drawer full of greeting cards for guests attending family events. The suite was perfect for us. In retrospect we would have put dad in the big bedroom since I slept on the sofa bed anyway as I'm a light sleeper. Dad has a biggish wheelchair and it was tight in the single bed back room... but we did it with the help of his walker. The TV is awesome and I was able to login to my streaming accounts with a QR code on the screen using my phone. Super cool for watching Olympics. Beautiful neighbourhood full of trees, quiet, yet close to restaurant, groceries and liquor store. Great location for us in north Nanaimo for our trip to Qualicum. Super lovely hosts. I’ve always been a little hesitant about staying in a suite of a property but it was completely fine, more than fine! Comfortable, clean, and well equipped suite. Were left with snacks including freshly baked scones. Huge bed. Super close to the ferry which is what we needed. Happy guests!

I've stayed in many BnBs in my life, and this was one of the best experiences in my life. Super charming hosts, the suite was the cleanest suite I've ever witnessed. ♥️ Thanks again for having us. I would give a 1000000 points out of a 10 if there would be a way to do it. I hope I'll be back soon.
