Very run-down room in need of renovation, shower head needs de-scaling, rather pricey for what it is. if you are a couple on a budget, you can find cheaper and better condos on airbnb.

I think it can be complicated sometimes to use showers and toilets as they are just a few shared in between few dorms. Some people at the reception don't have any information to share about the city and nobody will anyway give you recommendations or talk about their partnerships spontaneously. So that's a shame for such a big hostel and quite unexpected.

Nothing to criticise here, the area has a lot of homeless but that is not their fault, I felt safe coming and going

Handy to tourist stuff, buses and supermarket. Breakfast was generous and evening meals a bonus though appear to be vegetarian so you can add to it with meat, nice freebie drink from the bar with it. Staff were great, premises clean and plenty of bathrooms

This hostel was the cheapest option which I found for our last minute trip to Victoria. For such a price I didnt expect much, but have to say that for 1night it was ideal. Very close to downtown, walkable to beach and Beacon park. It is maybe 1-2min from the bus station from a ferry terminal. I didnt expect much from breakfast and the dinner but the pasta dinner was pretty cool and breakfast was nice too. The only negative thing was the hair on a bedlinen, other than that the room was clean and also the shared washroom.

The rooms above the bar/common are quite noisy from the music downstairs until midnight and start very early in the morning as well. Not ideal. The insulation on the ground floor space should definitely be improved.

My stay got off on the wrong foot which is why the rating is so low. I had nominated that I would be arriving after 10pm. To be told "oh sorry we've cancelled your booking at 10:26pm" after arriving at 11:45pm when it was fully prepaid, just seems silly. I do get the vibe that they went for maximum density/profit instead of making say one small area on each floor for taking a call/packing your bags/chatting to others. Get rid of the bar and put more places to sit.

I stayed once at the beginning and the end of my trip. Staff were friendly, hard working and dealt with my problems expertly. Both the veggie pasta dinner and the toast at breakfast were simple and good. You can pay extra for a quiet room.

I wouldn’t say it’s the most sociable of hostels, I think the set up downstairs doesn’t bode the best for that.

The dorm bed was very comfortable, good space within the room and I really appreciated the wardrobe space for belongings. The bathrooms were of good quality too. Always felt safe and it was staffed well and kept quiet. I can’t eat gluten and certain foods so sadly couldn’t eat the free dinner but if you can, you are well catered for along with a free breakfast and drink a day.

We were on the top (4th) floor which was a bit of a problem as there was no elevator and both my wife and I are seniors. Street noise could be a problem for some people as there was nearby construction and the work started before 7 am. Had to pay for parking, but that was expected. Warning: if you need a parking spot, reserve in advance. We hadn’t but there were fortunate enough to get the last available one, which was in a tiny space.

Liked the complementary dinner, breakfast and beverage. Our room was tiny but we expected it. Nice to have a fridge in the room. Loved the overall energy and vibe of this accommodation. Good location. Some sketchy characters hanging around the area, but the hostel tries to maintain good security.

The building is a bit tired and run down, and overall the facilities are fine but could stand some improvement. Check-in time is quite late, although baggage storage is available.

Friendly staff and a vibrant ‘traveler’ atmosphere, as you’d hope and expect from a hostel. Breakfast was simple but good (I didn’t get the chance to try out dinner). Location is close to town - always handy.

The building itself is quite old and dark, and some areas, like the bathrooms, were very smelly. The dorm room itself was clean but the hallways were very dirty.

The inn is located right downtown and has a unique and artsy vibe. The main level offers ample space for sitting and dining with a well-equipped, large kitchen. The complimentary breakfast, dinner, and drinks offered are a big bonus. I opted for the female-only dorm, which had six bunk beds. Found the room to be cramped and very dark. I highly recommend paying extra for a bottom bunk as it comes with a privacy curtain which makes a big difference. Upper bunks lack this feature. The room included a fridge and an individual closet, as well as space for hanging clothes and towels, which was very convenient. There are also multiple individual bathrooms on each floor. In addition to lockers to securely store your personal items, there are also vending machines available with snacks and drinks as well as a laundry room and area to relax. I also appreciated the secure front door and floor access, which made me feel safe during my stay. If you are looking for budget-friendly, no-frills accommodation in a great location that includes breakfast and dinner, free drinks, and free Wi-Fi, this is a good value for money!

The room was WAY too hot to sleep, apparently no cooling in mid-summer. Outside, very close by, construction and jackhammers went on till at least midnight. But I accept that some degree of noise is expected if you're staying downtown.

Best value accommodation downtown. Breakfast and a light evening meal is included. Bathrooms and kitchen are clean and well maintained. Excellent location. Parking garage within minutes walk from hostel. Great staff - friendly, helpful and efficient!

Extra charge for a quiet room, so traffic noise in the front facing rooms.

Old school style hostel but super clean/comfortable. The small double room was perfect for one person. Basic free breakfast and dinner provided which was a nice way to meet other travellers.
