Here is the reason for our less than perfect score. We took a cab to and from this location. When leaving our cab driver met us at the front desk and asked the owner to use the washroom. She told him no. We spent 3 weeks in Canada and this was the only experience we had of anyone being unkind.

It’s a nice place. The room was comfortable. We enjoyed the kitchen and slept well.

We stayed in a cozy and charming cabin with queen bed and private bath. We appreciated the privacy of a cabin “up top”. The unit was very clean and the gentleman at the front desk/check in building was delightful and helpful. There was a small deck attached to our unit, with sliding patio doors. We loved the vintage charm of the cabin and the whole setting. Very economical and only 30 min from Victoria. During daytime hours, the roar of the highway was audible, but it was a perfect, soft place to land at the end of a busy day in the city. We booked for a second night.

The kitchen was a little dated- some missing kitchen tools for cooking, but nothing too important and we were able to work with what was available.

Beautifully nestled into the woods off the road- it is quiet and peaceful. The rooms are spacious and well kept.

The room has an unpleasant smell, no ventilation. They don't provide a barbecue. TV and phone are not compatible. Very far from the city, no public transport.

Walking into the little house/bungalow it was musty, old smelling. Outside was smokey, and I rather had smokey air instead of the musty smell of the room. It went away after being aired out, or we got used to it, I don’t know. It wasn’t a deal breaker and I didn’t tell the staff because it was only one thing about the property that I didn’t like. Everything else was cute and lovely. Location was fantastic.

There were no curtains, only white blinds, so it was very light in the room overnight. The road was very noisy so we couldn't sit outside or leave the window open for air. There was a fan provided but it was very loud indeed.

Comfy bed. Good size room. Kitchenette (with 2 hob ring, microwave and tiaster) was good except it had no sharp knife or scissors. Nice surroundings with trees but a very busg road meant lots of noise until about 11pm, so no sitting outside. Uou couldn't hear the road noise with the door and windows shut.

U have to take long around 8-10Km U Turn to get in Property from Hwy 1 when you came from Victoria.

Owners are nice. Rooms are clean and tidy. But overpriced according to amenities and location.

Exiting from Malahat highway was challenge. No left turn from northbound directions. Had to make an upturn at 1:00am. But traffic was light.

Easy to find. Clean and ready for us. We arrived very late in the day. Called ahead to say midnight arrival. Innkeeper left key and invoice in box for us to retrieve. Bed comfy if a tad high - raised off of floor about 6” higher than usual. Box spring type no legs. Sofa was plush. Large patio door provided secondary ventilation. No AC. But all good with us.
