Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaRestaurant closed due to renovations.
Hotel was going through renovations so was disappointed that restaurant was closed. The location was exceptional and easy access to tourist attractions and restaurants.

CanadaWe were not aware of the construction until the day before. The lobby was claustrophobic but the staff did a great job. The coffee in the room was not stocked. There was no water in the room. Due to the construction, I didn’t want to impose by asking for coffee or two more towels (two women with long hair need two towels for showering).
The room was comfortable and relatively clean. Great view. The beds are comfortable. The shower had good pressure. The towels were great. The location is perfect. The reception staff and check in process are great.

AustraliaI stayed Fri/Sat night. It's under renovation but this wasn't clear until I had booked. They said renovation was business hours only which I took to mean 9-5 M-F but it was also going all day Sat. Parking was $30/day but should be included at this price. I wouldn't stay again until the renovations are finished
Deluxe King room was great size Excellent location, easy walk to everything

CanadaRoom was lacking complete storage space and the desk chair was too short. Still in reno stages. Refrigerator was too small. Coffee maker had no area for plugging in. Look forward to completed renovations.
Great room for view with balcony. Unfortunately could not access balcony. Bed was excellent. Chair for desk was too short for comfortable use. Room reno was not completed but set the tone for future stays.

NetherlandsThe hotel is under renovation, so there are no public spaces and no restaurant. For 40 minutes , we tried ordering breakfast and were not able to get through to room service. Breakfast was included in the price, but the hotel did refund the cost.
The hotel is walking distance to the harbour. We had one of the recently renovated rooms and it was clean and pleasant.

AustraliaThe hotel was renovating and only advised us 24 hrs before even though we booked months ahead. They also closed their bar and only offered room service. The staff working on the days we were there were not very helpful.
We had a refurbished room which was lovely. The location was close to everything - bars & restaurants and walking distance to sights.

CanadaSensor light in the closet, comes on if someone gets up in the night. We didn't't figure out how to turn it off. The bathroom door is frosted, it looks nice, but the light from the bathroom shines through and into the main room at night.
Great location! The room was recently renovated and looks great!

CanadaThe A/C was not allowing us to bring it lower than 22.5 degrees. We told the staff, they apologized and said they were sending someone to look at it. The following day, someone did try to fix the A/C but it was still not working. The only down side was that it was very hot in the room and we would of like to bring the temperature lower but other than that everything was great.
Our stay was great. The hotel was under construction when we arrived but the staff provided us with a new renovated room which was great. Best location, everything is walking distance or bike distance. Staff was amazing and very friendly. The restaurant was closed during our stay inside but we could order room service and the food was great.

CanadaI wasn’t aware it was fully under construction… or that pets were allowed on all the floors. I didn’t knew the restaurant and pool was closed. Very disappointing.

CanadaUnder construction, but it didn't bother us at all. Parking was $30 a night, in an underground parking garage, do NOT bring a full size truck or SUV if you plan on parking in the garage.
AMAZING location. We were upgraded to a King suite overlooking the city. Beautiful. Walking distance to lots of places, and in a very central location.

CanadaRoom was tired….needs updating….bathroom was worn down. We had an adjoining room, and on the first night, there was a woman in labour next door. She was in great discomfort, and groaned every hour or so throughout the night (we didn’t know her condition). Knowing there was a pregnant woman next door in labour, we should not have been put in the adjoining room…I could see the light under the door, and the sounds kept us awake all night. We spoke to the front desk the next morning and she said that we could move rooms if they didn’t check out. She explained that the woman was pregnant and waiting to go to the hospital. Knowing that, we should have been offered another room. They did check out that day, so we kept the room for the second night.
Location was excellent. Parking was convenient.

CanadaThe room was large and spacious though a bit outdated. You could tell the bathroom, though big, was well enjoyed by many others, though I know they are at the beginning of their transformation after being acquired by another hotel company so the updates will be well warranted.
Central location was great for walking, we are craft beer lovers so it was perfect as we were beside a craft brewery. Parking was central and easy to access and the room was very spacious though a bit noisy as we were right beside the stairwell and the doors are thin.

CanadaThe bed was very uncomfortable and springy ,and there wasn’t even a mattress pad to disguise it better. although, I will say that the blankets , pillows and duvet were very nice. There were 3 ice machines (3 different floors)and only one of them worked (that can not be blamed on renovations) There were lots of things that were in need of upgrades, replacement….I do realize that the hotel is supposed to be “under renovation” but it felt a little more like we were staying at a motel instead of a four points.
Our room was very clean. LOCATION AND VIEW!
