The top bunk bed’s mattress has sunk in the middle and the pillow is soo high it makes it uncomfortable to sleep. No sockets near your bed (despite saying so on Booking). The kitchen needs serious refurbishment - no spoons, no bowls, pans and pots without handles, out of service oven and water takes agessss to boil. The touchscreen padlock on the main entrance is so funny to use - maybe it needs something different cause it makes it hard to use. At some point at night guests had to go downstairs to open the door at other guests….

Really good location - 5 min walk to the bus station and the town centre. Big supermarket nextdoor. Spacious living room to hang out and nice balcony to overlook the street and well as relax. Big size lockers to keep your belongings safe and good bathrooms (cleaned and fully working). Staff speaks good English and the owners are very sweet, especially the mum. Many Europeans around, really nice to hang out.

Sheets never stay on the mattress. I tried something different every single day without success. Get bigger or fitted sheets.

Location is excellent. Kitchen is good to have although people tend to stack dirty dishes in the sink meaning that nobody else can use the sink. Fridge, cooker, microwave, sandwich toaster. Clothes drying lines on 1st floor balcony but nothing on the ground floor. Not a problem. You get your laundry dried so that's great. Nice common areas on the ground and on the first floor..

there I one aircon for each room and the room is very big. the person that sleeps under the aircon is comfortable but the rest of the room is very hot. other than that perfect!

They wrote that they have air con. They absolutely do not. The had a sweltering room with windows left open and I was bitten so much. I moved to a smaller room with a musty fan. They cannot claim to have something like air-con when it’s a massive deal for people who get bitten and in a heatwave. Kitchen is beyond old and has a few rusty pots and one cup and filthy appliances and place needs maintenance badly.

The staff were nice. Ok location, a few minutes from town. One volunteer tried to say I can’t hang too many clothes when I planned to before checking in go to the laundrette and not let them dry. She told me to hand wash it bothered her, and I said no I need to do all my laundry and it dries in 3 hours max. The others were nice.

Great location - 3 minute walk from bus stop, bakery and supermarket on the same road, close to historic town. Friendly staff and Henrique was very helpful speaking English. Very clean and comfortable (including bathrooms) - 14 bed dorm was spacious and had AC. Lockers provided. Living room with sofas and balcony with hammock. Good wifi and plug areas. Kitchen basic but functional. Absolutely no complaints - we had a lovely stay :)

The AC was very noisy. The bathroom lacked a mirror, it was not very clean and the door (which did not have a handle on the inside) could not be locked. On the night I arrived it smelled like urine. The furniture in the common area was old and in bad shape. Overall not worth it, especially for R$130 per night.

The staff was very nice and thoughtful. I liked that the lockers were below the beds, which made for easy access.

Very dirty, kitchen obviously hasn’t had a proper clean in a while. Saw multiple cockroaches. Bathrooms were also in a pretty sad state. The worst part was the beds through - we came back to pick up our bags after checking out earlier in the day to find our dirty bedsheets had not been stripped from our beds but had just been re-made. We’d had suspected the sheets weren’t very clean so this was so massive surprise…

The room and the bathroom didn't have a lock, the room lighting was pretty bad, all room was dark during the night. The wall pluges was terrible to charge phones or any devices and aso the mattress was moving all the time, not fixed at the bed. The worst thing that happened was I booked the tour ship and when I get there the owner of the hostel gave the preference to other people which weren't in the hostel and also haven't paid in advance, only booked!

The staff was very friendly and it had a pool table available.

Our private room was absolutely disgusting. There was a constant smell of sewerage, the room had cigarette buds and trash left in it, the window couldn’t be locked and the sheets and towels smelt dirty.

Great location, very close to the historic district, beside a grocery store and a quick walk to the bus station.

one of the best places that I ever stayed ,with the most friendly team and nice people that were willing to help with all issues .everything super clean and cosy .I was in love the my window view to mountain and cute balcony . kitchen is fully equipment and the location is super close to everything .all around there are a lots of supermarkets and shops.magical vibes in vibe hostal ! and as a guest I had discount to boat tour with free caipirinhas.you cannot miss it.

The room has not no windows or air condicionar, so the room was extremely hot and it was not confortable to stay in. The bathroom were always busy because there were two bathrooms for 18 roomates.

The location was great and the housekeerer was a very nice person.

Toilet was clogged on numerous occasions doing our stay. In addition they didn’t clean the toilet everyday. The windows in the room didn’t close so we got ate up by mosquitoes. The kitchen was not that nice either.

The manager was nice and spoke english. They also provided information on what to do and see.

The staff was nice but they didn't know any info about Paraty, how to reach places, or what to do. They only "suggested" about the boat tour. The bathroom was super dirty (there is not even a mirror, or soap), I didn't see any cleaning in three days , the bin was full of paper and smelly (as in Brazil you can't throw paper in the toilet itself). I asked to the receptionist the second day to send someone to clean and she answered she can't check if the bathroom is dirty and she will talk to the manager(?). When I check out the bathroom was still dirty. The kitchen was a mess and it would be nice if they provide water. The hostel is nice , but they need to improve a lot! They were more worried if the dog is going out than something else.

I stayed in a room of 8 which is big and spacious. It's close to the center and bus station, coffee shops, etc. There is AC and fan :)
