Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

The location is great. Smack between two major beaches. But the best was the community feeling at the hostel. Do note! This is a party hostel, so if you are looking to make friends, and have lots of fun while enjoying the beauty of Rio, this is your place.

I recently stayed at Pura Vida Hostel, and it absolutely delivered on everything I was hoping for in a party hostel experience, fun, kindness, and great free tours. :)))) From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was buzzing with energy. The hostel had a vibrant social scene with events like themed parties, beer pong tournaments, and nightly pub crawls that made it easy to meet other travelers. The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home, always ready with recommendations for things to do or places to eat. One of the highlights of my stay were the free tours organized by the hostel. They offered a variety of options, from city walking tours to day trips to nearby attractions. Pura Vida hostel exceeded my expectations as a party hostel. It provided a perfect balance of fun activities, friendly vibes, and opportunities to explore the city and meet new people. If you're looking for a hostel that offers a memorable and lively experience with plenty of chances to socialize and enjoy free tours, I highly recommend checking out here It's a block away from the beach and of course If I come again to Rio, I'll stay at Pura Vida

Brazilthis is just a suggestion, but wished they had laundry machines here! It would be so more convenient rather trying to find a laundry place to do laundry.
I loved everything about Pura Vida...they had everything! I love the breakfasts and the meals they provide throughout the day for a fee. They have a bar that I really love, it’s a good spot to meet other travelers and have a good time drinking with them! I had some good times! I love the tours and activities they provide for guests. I was able to explore Rio because of that. The staff here are very nice and helpful with everything. I met the owners Felipe and Dalton and they were very nice guys. Overall I enjoyed my time here and wished I could stay longer. I’ve created some good memories here.

NetherlandsThe bathrooms were not really nice and clean. I would not expect top notch quality but could still be better. What is really weird is that the communal restroom at the men side have see through doors.
Great social hostel with lots of activities. There is a group whatsapp which lets you know what is happening. They have workshops like caiprinha making and dancing (often the second follows after the first). Great staff also!

SwedenHonestly there was nothing I did not enjoy about Pura Vida. But its a few stairs you have to walk, but that’s also the reason to why the view is so nice :)
I love the location, just 5 min walk to Copacabana and about 15 min walk to Ipanema! The property has a lot of common areas for hanging out with other guests which is a perfect opportunity to get to know new people. Its much cleaner than most hostels, I saw staff cleaning several times a day! Private rooms are fresh and perfect size, well-functioning air conditioner :) staff are very friendly!!!

CanadaThe notorious stairs can be workout 😂 We all loved and hated them especially after a night out 🤭but honestly, they are a landmark of this hotel that adds to the charm and experience. I had a medium size luggage with me that wasn’t fun to carry but soon you’ll make friends to help you carry it when you leave 💝
Very social hostel with other great travellers. They organize great excursions and are attentive to any questions you may have. I loved how there was someone on site to help you get a SIM card/data plan.
