Had a fantastic stay at Villa Carmo. Nilton and his son are so welcoming and kind. There was a delicious breakfast every morning with so much variety! It's also located in the perfect spot right next to the centro historico. Highly recommend staying here if you are in Salvador.

I had a wonderful experience at hostal Barra. I loved the kindness of Newton the host, he was very kind and happy to help and give us recommendations. Such a nice person :) The breakfast was really delicious and healthy, made of fresh fruits (papaya, mango, guayana,etc) and typical pastries. + an amazing view when we had breakfast (you could see the sea) The location of the hostel was perfect, right in the pelourinho which was the historical center of Salvador. The room was very good as well.

THE BEST accommodation that we had during our trip in Brasil. Amazing location in the heart of Santo Antonio. They let us to do check in very early, the staff ( especially the host named Newton) was so friendly and lovely, they made us feel like home ❤The breakfast was so delicious, everything was so clean and tidy, also amazing balcony with views to the port and ocean. I totally suggest this pousada. Cannot wait to come back!Muito Obrigada!!!!

Nothing to improve on with this stay as the budget reflects what you get and there are other options if you need a place with air conditioning. I had work to do on my laptop (zoom) so I would suggest buying a wifi device beforehand for reliability to use.

The breakfast at Villa Carmo was the highlight of our stay. It was a great selection of fruits, cakes and traditional Baiana dishes with a great view. The staff at breakfast were super friendly and helpful too. The location is PERFECT, it is on one of the best streets in the old town with bars, restaurants and easy to get anywhere you may need in the city. The room was just as described and shown in the photos. It is worth noting that there isn't an aircon system but a ceiling fan. The triple room has a private bathroom which is outside of the room. The owner is AMAZING, a really friendly guy who had recommendations for anything you may need, happy to help or even just have a chat. I would recommend this place or stay again in the future!

The pousada is a real experience to try. Both the owner Nilton and the son Filipe were really nice people and helped me all the time. At breakfast you get to see an amazing view of the bay and the pousada is right in the historical center of Salvador. The son Filipe picked me up at the airport and the following day took me on a day-tour of Salvador. He can speak good English and Italian.

The location of the house is great, very close to old town of Salvador, but with some walking uphill required. The hosts were very welcoming and made us feel like family. Room had a great view. Breakfast was really good with fresh eggs and a lot of fruits

This is a fantastic place to stay! The location was perfect, right next to the Pelhourinho district. The pousada is a charming, old colonial building and my room had a balcony overlooking the beautiful Bay of All Saints. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the breakfast is very good. The owner Nilton and his son Filipe are great guys and were very helpful with everything I needed. Muito 'brigado, tudo bom!! 👍

Excellent hospitality, our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. They helped to arrange the airport transfer (both ways) at a very reasonable price. Rooms are very spacious and the house is beautiful. The location is very central. Breakfast was simple but delicious.

Some times the wi fi wasn’t working well but it just a tiny point :)

After spending some time there, you progressively feels like home or at least you become familiar with the places around and the staff who are genuinely caring and helpful, and make you feel good ( I have picture of you for memories !!) which was the point that made me book this hostel at the first place and I haven’t been disappointed. The breakfast are splendid yummy !! And you take them on the terrace which give you a beautiful view on the sea, (Also I saw most of the sunset there on this terrace while drinking a tea that the hostel was offering ) The room was normal, enough comfort and the AC was working so this was good.

The rooms are quite basic and the shower leaves something to be desired! But the atmosphere is so nice that it doesn't matter.

We were really made to feel like part of the family - we went everywhere with them, on tours with the baby in the back! It is a wonderfully welcoming environment and we felt totally at home. Breakfasts are lovely and had a nice sea view from the patio. I would highly recommend.

As is advertised, the wifi is only available in public areas. This is a big minus, as many travelers nowadays work online when traveling. Second minus is that the villa is in urgent need of repairs, improved maintenance and cleaning. With these issues solved, it would be a fantastic accommodation option in Santo Antonio district.

The villa has a great location, most friendly owner/manager and a nice feel of an old historical building. The rooms are spacious, and some have big balconies and seaviews. The breakfast was nice.
