Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United StatesThe room I stayed in (1108) was not in good conditions. They need to remodel some rooms. For the price I paid, I could have stayed at the Hilton or got an apartment. The elevators are small and sooooooo slow. I had to take the stairs many times. The massage therapist is on call only... there is not a therapist on staff during work hours.
The location of course is really good, right across the beach from Copacabana. There are many restaurants near by and the mall is walking distance(be careful walking through tunnel to the mall). The food at the hotel is pretty good. Not expensive. The rooftop pool is nice and sitting area is nice. The staff was super helpful, polite. The bed was comfortable and shower nice.

The staff were very friendly. Our bed was comfortable and clean. The hotel is located in an area where there are different type of restaurants and shops. You can enjoy the beach where the hotel has its own chairs and umbrellas. We were not worried about leaving our belongings while we went to swim because the staff kept them in their tent Excellent breakfast.

Colombia- The hotel is old. - We had a problem with the payment because hotel refused to accept payment from our company, requesting that the name of the bank card should be the same as the guest (though our trip was paid by company and it made us a big inconvenience) - Our room was side sea view and there’s a big column on the balcony that is closing the view, so basically you need to go to the opposite corner of the balcony to be able to see a little sea. - At the checkout we were asked to pay more money than I expected, so I asked for a detailed bill and it ended up that they added some tax without letting us know. As I knew my booking included all the taxes, I asked about it and the administrator said it’s not obligatory tax and that he is going to remove it from the bill, which he did. The amount of money was little and I didn’t see a problem to pay it if I was asked and explained what that means. To me it looks disrespectful to add something in a bill without letting the guest knowing about it.
They’re focusing on the most important for the customer things: - good breakfast - clean rooms - free chairs and umbrellas at the beach, they will even look after your belongings if you want to go swimming, which is amazing.

United KingdomPerhaps the hot breakfast could offer more vegetarian options. Every other day they offer a vegetarian omelette, that we loved! There are lots of hot options for meat eaters (bacon and sausages) like me. However, my boyfriend who doesn’t eat pork would have liked more hot vegetarian options.
Beautiful hotel, with a luxurious feel. But what made our stay extra special was the staff who consistently went out their way to make us feel special and welcome! Alice went out of her way to give us a personalised itinerary and regularly checked in with us over our stay. Carlinhos every breakfast remembered my love of hot chocolate and ensured I got that. Even giving me a nickname of “chocolatte” which made us laugh each morning. Alex ( I believe was his name, who helps with luggage) was always super friendly and warm. As well as the receptionists. The staff treat you like family. We loved our stay at PortoBay and felt so well taken care of. Thank you to all. We hope you get the recognition you deserve.

BelgiumSound proofing of the windows was very bad, so even though we were on the 12th( I believe) floor, I was awoken by the beeps of the cleaning cars at 3 am. Also the beach bars were audible. I don't want to imagine what rooms with beach view on the first floors have going on.
The hotel is on a prime location and it's easy to navigate around. 10 minutes drive from the famous Sugarloaf Bread. The room we booked (top level) had a spectacular view and the bedding were nicely medium hard. Breakfast was varied and very friendly staff to refill. We didn't have dinner as we had a craving for sushi. The reception people promptly advised a Nikkei place accross the street which was a marvelous bonus to our stay.

The breakfast was amazing. Lots of variety and really well organized. Our room was on the 12th floor and we had an amazing view over Copacabana. it was super central location and right in front of the beach. Loved the view from the pool on the rooftop. we also had drinks there and it was a lovely place to enjoy a cocktail after a busy day.
