Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaI thought it was very strange that the people at the reception drew up waiting lists to check in, I had to wait over an hour and a half to get the room even though it was past 2 pm, even if they have the rooms ready and you arrive before 2 pm you will not be served until after you have been placed on the waiting list and you have to wait for your turn, the check-in process is slow, there was a very unpleasant smell in the bathroom
good location, clean room, good internet , breakfast ok, you had more choice of sugary products than normal food, there were also some fruits

BrazilStayed in room 912 for 6 nights, the internet functioned about 10% of time during peek hours on any of these days. Charged (extorted) $R14.00 for a ($R4.00-6.00) 1.5 liter bottle of water at adjoining OK Cafe.
Stay 6 nights. Well positioned hotel for stays in the center of the city with Metro and Tram (VLT) two streets away with many choices of restaurants in the surrounding area. Comfortable bed with clean linen. Very good Breakfast with the usual assortment of breads, fruits, cold cuts, scrambled eggs, and sliced hotdogs in a tasty sauce. Tip - for drinking water there is the Pomar market located nearby at R. Evaristo da Veiga, 55 - 5 liters of water $R13.50

NetherlandsNoisy. The rooms are VERY noisy, no sound proof at all, we could hear every movement in the rooms next and above us, we were disturbed by guests. Loud noise from hallway and elevator too. Very Dark room, only 1 white light, no bed lights. Toilet didn’t flush. Very loud airconditioning. Gym is only open from 09.00 AM so basically useless if you want to workout before breakfast like us. Breakfast very unhealthy with lots of sugary and fast food. We missed plain yoghurt, whole grain bread, vegetables, etc. The food hygiene could be better. Food was out and uncooled for 4 hours on the buffet; things dried out or just went bad. Things were spilled or just messy and not cleaned up. One of us is vegetarian and could only eat the fruit and egg (if it was not run out). It’s really not okay if the meat sauce is drooling into the scrambled egg or on the cheese, but nobody cares. The guy running the restaurant was very rude. Also we saw them people declining breakfast whilst it was not even 10.00 yet. A LOT of homeless people right in front of the hotel. We were victim of attempted robbery with violence, further down the street, whilst waiting for the taxi. Be very careful because as a tourist, you are a target. We did not feel safe anymore in this neighbourhood.
Location is in the middle of city highlights and walking distance to many attractions and metro.

BrazilThey could provide shampoo and conditioner for bath, along with the soap they already provide. Pillows could be better.
Pretty ok, as the name says. It was actually a good surprise, considering the price. I was expecting a lower quality. Comfortable bed, well functioning air conditioning, clean bathroom with great and hot shower and had wall sockets near the bed.

The location was great just near the City Center where I had bussiness and St Dumont AirPort. The breakfest was very good with a lot of options of fruits, breads, cheese and drinks (juice, null, coffee). The shower was good strong and hot. Air condition was working prosperly and there were blankets.

United StatesWi-Fi did not work anywhere in the hotel for me, not in a great area (I went around the corner to buy water and got stopped by three different homeless people asking for money). The first room I had I saw two little bugs on the bed, they looked like silverfish but were brown. I asked for a different room and the next one seemed fine (but was a much smaller room), there was some little specks around one of the corners of the mattress, and the third night I found a little bug in the bed but it didn’t look like a bedbug. I didn’t get any bites, but photos included for reference. None of the safes worked, they are supposedly getting new ones. For the price being about half the cost of many other hotels that had lower ratings, it was not nearly as bad as it could have been. The area was a definite drawback and if you don’t have international data I would not recommend staying because Wi-Fi didn’t work.
Shower- good water pressure and hot water, rooms cleaned daily, breakfast was good, most of the staff spoke English and were very nice and helpful. I had to print out a voucher for sugarloaf mountain, and they did print it for me but charged R3 per page. The lobby is beautiful, the rooms are dated but still clean, if the hotel was in a different area I would stay again
