Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

FinlandNoise from the busy main street was awful - actually I started to use my noise killing headset to sleep (my intended use has been for sleeping in intercontinental flights). This is the base of my score 7, as based on other things the score could have been 9
Location is near ferry terminal to Rio, but otherwise far away from services of Niteroi (Icarai area is better for services). Room was basic, but cleaning was very good. Fridge was good, but I missed water cooker for coffee/tea. Breakfast had a very good selection of hot and cold items

United KingdomLocal circumstances required an extension to my stay - I wish it could have been for even longer.
The INCLUDED serve yourself breakfast was an "abundant SHOW" of typical Brazilian food: Choice of cool fruit juices, selection of fresh fruits, Regional Cheeses and Ham slices, cooked scrambled eggs and chopped sausage dressing, variety of cheese breads cookies, self prepared toast plus dressings and of course an ENDLESS SUPPLY OF BRAZILIAN COFFEE black or topped off with a dash of hot milk also tea for the sceptical. Not to forget the unobtrusive, yet very attentive staff that maintained the supply of edibles and pristine appearance of the dinning area. They merit a standing round of applause.
