The location has advantages and disadvantages. There were not a lot of restaurants within walking distance, so be aware that you often need a cab. The advantage is the amazing view from the hotel. The building itself is also beautiful and you can have breakfast and swim while looking at Rio's skyline. In the end: very very nice hotel and highly recommended.

The hosts are warm and kind. The room was very clean and beautiful. The breakfast is excellent. We enjoyed our stay here a lot.

Casa Geranio is truly a great place to stay! Lovely, quiet location, with a beautiful garden and very comfortable and wonderful. Decorated with great care and what a blissful breakfast! And very friendly and professional owners (Gabriel and Claudio) and staff!

Fantastic boutique hotel in the Santa Teresa district of Río de Janeiro. Gabriel and Claudio (hotel owners) and the rest of the staff made us very welcome for the week . The breakfasts were different every morning and extremely tasteful and yummy too .The bedroom in main building was colonial old style and nice. Highly recommend Casa Geranio for a vacation in Río De Janeiro . The experience was home to home due to the attention to detail and the caring and thoughts that Gabriel and Claudio put in each of their guests. To other possible clients go and experience a 10 rating hotel. Obrigada Claudio y Gracias por todo Gabriel

Absolutely perfect stay! Casa Geranio exceeded all expectations. The attention to detail in every aspect of this place is impeccable. The breakfast is nothing short of outstanding – fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home. The unique charm and ambiance of the place are unmatched. The location is ideal, situated near the stunning Santa Teresa neighborhood, which adds to the overall experience. I have rarely stayed in such a perfect accommodation. The owners are not only ultra-friendly but also fascinating individuals with great stories to share. Casa Geranio is a true gem in Rio – highly recommended!

Not a thing

All the rooms were spaced out so that you got complete privacy, attention to the decor was second to none. Gabriel & claudio were the perfect hosts could not do enough for us. The pool was also exceptional. We loved it so much decided to stay another 6 days. Breakfasts were delicious & a different variation every morning.

We were absolutely blown away by how beautiful this place was. Breakfast every morning was incredible it tasted amazing and there was such attention to detail. We loved being surrounded by nature but very close to the city. The wildlife was amazing - local monkeys and hummingbirds! It was so relaxing and the hosts are so welcoming. The bedroom was stunning and the pool was beautiful. Pure bliss!!

There was absolutely nothing to dislike about this place. I will warn travelers that you need to be able to climb a few flights of stairs, but that is how the view is able to be so spectacular.

I have traveled often, and this was one of the best stays I have experienced. The space itself was exquisite, but the staff and service was unmatched. We asked for a few recommendations while we were there (food and shopping a little more "off the beaten path), and were so pleasantly surprised.

Our stay with Claudio was nothing short of exceptional. As first-time visitors to Rio, we were delighted that we chose to avoid staying in Copacabana. Our host not only helped guide our choice of excursions but endowed us with his outstanding knowledge of Rio. Our accommodation was spotless and extremely comfortable, a real home from home. Apart from the amazing sights of Rio, the highlight of every day was breakfast, which is a culinary tour de force. The location is great and the property superb.

Lack of shower hot water. After a couple weeks of travelling around we wanted a really nice place to relax on our last night. One relaxing aspect to have a nice hot shower but I think the nozzle was broken and so only cold showers :(

The breakfast is outstanding. Food, service, environment, and view. The owners are really lovely also.

Beautiful boutique b&b run by the loveliest hosts. Everything throughout this hotel has been done with keen attention to detail, making it feel really premium, and the breakfast is unreal! The best I’ve had anywhere in the world. Pool area is lovely and the hosts are always on hand to help you plan your day and give you recommendations.

Casa Geranio is a truly exceptional boutique hotel and is a little paradise in the middle of Santa Teresa. The owners (Claudio & Gabriel) are incredible hosts who go out of their way to make sure all of your needs are catered for and to provide tips and recommendations of the best things to do in Rio. The facilities were great and the breakfasts even better. We came here on a recommendation from friends and will be recommending to any of our friends or family who are planning to come to Rio.

Very friendly and welcoming hosts, who had great recommendations for the area and Rio in general. The breakfast area has incredible views as does the pool and common areas. Will book again when back in Rio de Janeiro.

Drainage in bathroom sink was slow at times but really did not affect our stay negatively. Easy fix and just needs some drain cleaner

Nothing at all. This hotel is amazing.

The breakfast was extraordinary. They even change little details day to day like the china and foods served. The pool is beautiful and the view is breathtaking! The service is top notch and the rooms are clean and lovely.
