Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSadly the pool was being repaired so was out of action.
Beautiful hotel in a vast lakeside garden. A stunning example of modernist architecture and design. Quiet and comfortable.

United StatesThe Oscar restaurant for breakfast was fantastic. But the evening dinner was not as good as advertised. Too much salt and not enough vegetable options. I really wish the pool had been open or we had pool privileges at the Tulip.
Beautiful design history and grounds. Excellent staff. Wonderful breakfast - delicious and many options. The art is great and I loved the sparse and clean feeling of the entire hotel.

BrazilI just wish there was some kind of option of covered parking spots. Our car sat in the hottest sun all day, and was quite uncomfortable to sit in for drives after that.

BrazilThe place of my room, at the very end of an enormous corridor of the second floor was a little too much, as many rooms closer to the main elevators were apparently empty. The carpet of the second floor corridor is not in good condition. The room had two big beds and I was by myself. Two lamps were burnt in the room. Bad maintenance. The bathroom has a little shower by the water closet that is not working well. I told the reception about it and during my stay of seven days nothing was done. The shower has a very slippery floor, and for myself in my 75 years old could be very dangerous. I told the reception about it e nothing was done. The maître of the restaurant Oscar was a very attentive and gentle man, contrasting with the rest of the personnel. In my next stay, I will definitely go back to Mercury hotel.
Very good breakfast. Excellent location.

United KingdomStaying in an original building designed by Oscar Niemeyer with a view of the lake, lived up to our high expectations, and being neighbours with the Alvorado Palace and the Museum of Fine Art added to our excitement. Having capibara, peacocks and burrowing owls in the grounds was an added bonus. Wide range of food at breakfast - including our first soya milk after a month in Brazil, and great dinners. Staff went out of their way to be helpful. Bus from outside the hotel goes into the centre of town past all major buildings of interest.

United KingdomThere were 3 large yellow generators on the lawn near the pool. They were incredibly noisy and were on 24 hrs a day. They are for the hotel next door, not even this hotel! I complained to reception and was moved rooms further away from them and they are clearly heard in the room. This is unacceptable. The hotel owner also has a financial interest in the hotel next door which is why they are on this property (reception informed me) The noise of these generators ruined the serene gardens and sitting around the pool. For this reason I would never stay here again. Visit the architecture of the hotel by having a drink in the restaurant, don’t stay here at present.
Good hotel on the edge of the lake outside of Brasilia. Taxis are required to get anywhere as there is nothing near the hotel, but you can’t really walk anywhere in Brasilia as it’s a car city. The architecture is amazing and the pool is great if the sun is out and it’s not raining. Service was good and breakfast was varied and tasty.

United States- No Iron board in the rooms. Sometimes they borrow, sometimes they don’t. - They spent 3 of our days there cutting grass, making a lot of noise on the swimming pool. - Breakfast could have more variation. It’s good, but not exceptional - Wifi is just okay
Unique place. Great architecture and history. Must-see for architecture enthusiasts. Super chill. We loved the place, but service could be better.
