Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

IsraelI had imagined from the descriptions that Samokov would be a picturesque town, when in fact it is a rather drab industrial suburb. It was my fault, but this very comfortable accommodation was not located in a very pleasant place. Also, the bakery below (closed on Sunday) was good, but not exceptional..
The place was great for a large family. There was a well equipped kitchen and a yard with a place for grilling and tables outside.

IrelandOur room was mountain facing which is also street facing and the street lighting is very bright at night. The curtains do not block out the light and it was a bit too bright for us. The shower wets the whole bathroom floor as it's not a separate shower basin, the whole bathroom is basically the shower with a drain in the middle. Not a major issue, just something to note. I would stay here again. Black out curtains would be nice.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We had a car so the location wasn't really relevant as we stayed here and drove to Borovets to ski each morning. It was only about 10 - 15 minute drive to Borovets so this is a good value alternative to staying in Borovets if you have a car. The shared kitchen and facilities were good. Free parking on the street outside the hotel.

IrelandAs an elderly couple, I think breakfast in a local cafe might have been better for us. The bakery option is likely to more than satisfy younger clients, especially more price conscious travelers (such as hungry back-packers!). That said, we didn't leave hungry, our host was most helpful, and the apartment's self-catering facilities were very good.
Breakfast was purchased at adjoining bakery. Adequate Bulgarian fare (and free cappuccino coffee, kindly supplied by our host from his street-side vending machine).

Everything was more than good! Wonderful people, very cooperative: i had a health problem and Dimitri (Kristos by phone!) very carefully helped me in solving it. The perfume of the " banitza" from the underneath Dimitri's oven is a wonderful wake up! They are dog friendly. Magnificent!

Czech Republicnot a completely practical bathroom - there is no shower screen or curtain, so the whole bathroom is wet after showering. We had to wipe the water with one of the towels, there is no mat or cloth to wipe the floor.
nice clean room with balcony, fridge in room, another with freezer in common room. Very pleasant sitting in the garden. A big bonus is the bakery on the ground floor and the proximity of the very good restaurant "Mechana Starata kashta"

The owner is very kind and helped us with everything we needed and more. Plus they have a large kitchen for cooking and an indoor and outdoor sitting area for the guests! RomaniaProbably the shower as the drain is directly on the floor in the middle of the bathroom and it is not delimited by a bathtub or curtain. This can make the water splash and it may become not very convenient when using the bathroom after.
The newly refurbished room was very comfortable, clean and warm and Hristo was very friendly and always available for advices and recommendations. The back yard has a very nice bbq area, equipped with everything needed. Good communication in EN with the host.

IrelandRoom is perfect, the little garden with tables and bbq facilities is great, location is close to 2 of the best restaurants in Samokov.. but what makes the difference is the owner Hristo who will go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. He also has a ski rental office in Borovets and he is a ski instructor so you really don’t have to worry about anything :-)
