Speaking of the beds, if you happen to be at the bottom, you will literally sleep on the floor with a mattress. I mean there is no any elevation, apart from the mattress'es height and as such you will hear and almost feel all the steps from other fellow travelers. Most probably, you will be inhaling all the dust pulverised in the air by the movements in the room, which is not really the healthiest thing to do. In addition, there was no Internet provided, which actually I badly needed, since I was in roaming with limited data usage - I was told that in near future they will have it. And lastly, I felt that the price was a bit higher compared to what I was getting, but at that time there was a big metal festival in the town, so I guess that could explain the price hike - normally, you can get a better place in Plovdiv for what I've paid.

The surroundings are really beautiful and unique as you will stay in the old part of Plovdiv, where the time really has stopped. I absolutely love to stay there. It is a unique place and will have the opportunity to experience it, if you stay at this hostel. The vibes are very informal here. You will see people lying at the benches in the garden and enjoying the sun. There is a fridge with drinks, where you can take something and pay later - this place seems to operate on mutual trust. The check-in process is very easy one - you will be greeted by the staff and they will show you the facilities and give you the bed linen, so you will have to make your own bed. You can request a locker as well to put your valuables. Don't expect anything fancy here - it is a hostel where the beds look almost DIY.

The hostel staff were barely present. They checked us in over the phone and didn't have information about hiking. No one else had been hiking when I arrived so I found it hard to get advice on hiking in the arrive. I wouldn't call this a hiking hostel. The bathroom was dirty and looked like the toilet hadn't been cleaned for ages.

The location was great being just a short walk from the center. The hostel was set up well with nice common areas. The size of the room was good meaning you weren't squashed in with others.

This hostel lies very far from the railway station.

I have taken breakfasts in the city center (10 minutes walk). This hostel lies right in the middle of the old Plovdiv. YOu can chat with many friends while taking breaks in the garden of this hostel.

The strategic location inside old town, near to many attraction building. Ivan very kind to let me use the bathroom after checked out. He help to carry my luggage and call taxi to bus station at night. The hostel outlook may not compatible to other hostel, but it full of human touch.

Ivan is the best host I've ever had ! So nice, so helpful, cooking for the guest, making us discover the city... What to ask more ? The commons are big and cosy. And the location can't be better !
