Serge was an excellent host. He explained everything very well. He was friendly and helpful. We loved the apartment it was perfect.

This is the best equipped apartment we have ever stayed in - even a thermomix in the kitchen, filtered sparkling water on tap, a coffee machine in each bedroom, and 3 in the kitchen. There was nothing lacking. The furnishings and decor are modern and very tasteful, the rooms and outdoor terrace are spacious, everything is sparkling clean and comfortable. Serge and Ingeborg are the most welcoming hosts - meeting us on site, popping in with freshly made delicacies, and providing information on what to do and where to go in the town they are justifiably very proud of. Introducing us to Kim’s Battlefield Tours was one recommendation we can’t endorse highly enough. Serge even arranged for us to lay a wreath at the Menin Gate Last Post Ceremony - a real honour. Thank you.

Nothing. I just wish we could have stayed longer. We should have spent a minimum of four nights rather than just two.

We loved everything about the apartment and Serge. Serge was so kind to pick us up at the train station and give us a tour of the town before taking us to the apartment. This apartment has everything one could possibly want. There is a full kitchen which makes it really nice for preparing food. The balcony was a lovely place to have dinner and hang out. It was wonderful to have access to a washing machine and dryer. The air conditioning is superb and the beds were very comfortable. What a pleasant surprise to have cold beer, delicious apple cake, a variety of snacks, and various candies to greet us. Serge went above and beyond the call of duty to help us plan restaurant outings, viewing the Menin Gate ceremony, and sightseeing including providing us with maps, brochures, and discount coupons. This is in a great location to visit all of the sites without being in a noisy district. Ypres is a great town with so much to see and do. I would rate this a 20 out of 10 if possible.

Exceptional space and facilities including high quality furnishings , large living-room/ dining room, bathroom bedrooms and terrace. Host runs a cookERY school on the ground floor and readily invited me to share a beer with him and the cooks. Good beer on offer and tourist information in the flat. Good location in Ypres. I would highly recommend it as a base to visit Ypres and surrounding WW 1 sites ( and cookery school).

What a fantastic find! The property was great – spacious, extremely well-equipped and a little quirky (which added to the fun of staying there). Our host, Serge, went way beyond our expectations, particularly in helping us make the most of our short stay in Ypres. It seems he is both very well-known and very well-connected locally! There were no negatives – highly recommended.

This place is an absolute treat as is the host. The place is immaculate, located an easy amble from the centre and has lots of very nice little touches about it. I won't list them all because I wouldn't want to spoil the hand over from the host but to give you a taster; you will not want for coffee and the sound system has pre-loaded playlists to cover a range of occasions and tastes. There is a well stocked 'honesty' bar if you fancied something to sup while you watch the sun go down from the roof terrace. The host is great - if you have never been to Ypres before or you want some local insight he is a trove of good information. Don't be put off by the lack of dedicated parking - you can generally get right outside the door to load/unload and there is ample free parking a stones throw away.

All was perfect.

Absolutely fantastic apartment..very spacious and everything is top quality... the furnishings, the gadgets, and especially the host Serge. We loved the beer cabinet! For reference entrance to property is on ground floor, you then walk up one flight of stairs to living area (including garden terrace) and kitchen plus one bathroom. Then up another flight of stairs to two bedrooms and family bathroom.

The apartment is very well equipped for self catering. Or host Serge was really welcoming, very friendly and offered us all kinds of help and treats during our stay. We really appreciated having the terrace to sit out on.

There is nothing to dislike.

The apartment is probably the best rental we have ever stayed at. It was like home from home with everything you needed and lots of nice little touches. All equipment is very modern and high quality. The location was perfect with easy parking. The owner Serge is very nice and happy to help with local information, he also makes lovely carrot cake. I would highly recommend this apartment 10/10.

Only tiny down point was there was only 1 small roll of toilet paper on arrival - but we were going to the shop so just picked up some same time. Some renovation to downstairs cooking studio weren't completed before our arrival but owner offered free local beer as compensation!

Owners son met us at location on arrival to do a room tour and advise of codes then owner met and gave extra info - came back later with complimentary carrot cake for us all 🙂 Also checkout cafe in town centre called - “milk and sugar” best hot chocolate!!!
