the neighbourhood of the gare du midi, but that's not the hotel's "fault". It is what it is. The city council should do something about it.

conveniently located quite close to the gare du midi this hotel is good for an overnight stay. It is simple, clean, room of a good size, comfortable sofa bed in addition to the main bed

The walk from the rail station is short but very confusing with major works redeveloping a metro station going on right outside the hotel. The roads are a mess and the temporary pedestrian route is uneven and marked with overflowing rubbish bins. Avoid the walk from Brussels Midi if you can, especially after dark, there are some very dodgy characters around. Better to stick to Lemmonier metro round the corner instead.

Around of the hotel was not charming. There is construction work on the road in front of the hotel. And the district of the hotel is not attractive.

Rooms are big enough and clean. Breakfast is good. Staff is very friendly. I found everything I needed in the hotel. Nothing was missing and nothing more. It is close to the train station.

Noise on Friday evening and the invoice issue

Unable to provide invoice with the correct billing details at the end of our stay. The construction in the front of the Hotel didn't help to the experience neither the noise on Friday evening in street

Not close to the main tourist sights (but can take public transport easily), not very vibrant and area appears to have a fair amount of pecuilar characters, a lot of construction happening around the area and staff communication and service a bit slow.

The biggest issue was when walking towards the centre the neighbourhood feels unsafe. If you go anywhere I'd take an Uber, we didn't and it was an experience. I have stayed in many places and don't mind basic hotels and areas that aren't that affluent. The reason for the staff rating is the receptionists are rude. We arrived 10mins before check-in, with rucksacks after travelling 6 hours and had our 13 year old son with us. We were told we had to wait as early and could use the baggage area. Well after walking to the hotel through a gauntlet I said no I'll wait the 10 mins thanks. That seemed to annoy her so she became rude. We waited for the now 8 mins and then were given the key to our room. I had to ask for the spa and for other info as it wasn't forthcoming.

The spa is really nice and the hotel once you are inside is very comfortable. The small gym looked decent however we didn't use it. It's only a two mins walk from the train station.

The receptionist at checkin was not really pleasant. I actually booked the hotel for the night before in error and had to make another booking as I lost my money for the first booking. The receptionist was really scruffy when I said I booked the night before in error and if it’s possible for me to get anything off the new booking. I thought at least complimentary breakfast could have been offered seeing that I paid for breakfast on my last booking. Apart from her services the hotel was nice and breakfast had lots of options.

Location was good and easy to find. Hotel was clean and well kept. The receptionist on the morning shift was really nice and helpful at our checkout.

The area in which hotel is located does not feel safe - it is ok during the day, but kinda scary in the evenings. Breakfast choice was poor for the price. If you expect to eat something warm in the morning, the only option is scrabled eggs and some poor quality sausages. Also not much selection for cold food. 2 days out of 3 there were only pineapple on the fruits table.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Had a perfect night sleep. Included welness center access. Around 20 minutes walk to the centre.
