Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThis wasn't much of a concern for me personally, but people who struggle with stairs would likely not do well here. It's a very typical building for the region, which feature many rather steep staircases with somewhat narrow steps.
The owner's really lovely, the rooms are spacious and clean. I found the location really convenient, easy to reach by trams 3 and 4 from the nearby Anneessens stop, with much of central Brussels at walking distance. Personal tip: Try restaurant Les Brigittines, at about a 10 minute walk!

ItalyThe only flaw I found was access to the room was via steep flights of stairs.
The room was large and clean, very quiet, guaranteeing a good rest. Location of the hotel is excellent, 10 minutes from Grand Place and less than 20 minutes from the MIDI train station with a metro stop less than 3 minutes walk away. Breakfast was not included in the offer by my choice so I cannot rate it.

AustraliaThe stairs are a bit terrifying to walk up and down. Very steep and the steps small. I only had a small carry on suitcase and was thankful I didn't have more! Would've been very tricky to get a big suitcase up and down by myself. Zarin is lovely but an older lady and not able to help with luggage.
Great location - just outside the main city part so nice and quiet but only a 5-10 min walk away. I really wanted the old house aesthetic and this place definitely delivered! Built in the 1700s it was an authentic Brussels stay. Zarin was friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast (10 euro extra) was a varied spread and had something for everyone.

The landlady was a gem! Very friendly and helpful!Very tasty breakfasts too. The room had a kettle, tea and coffee, cups ,plates and cutlery, which was handy. The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The stairs were OK for me but difficult to negotiate for people with impaired mobility. The only downside were the noise levels in the street running below the room at night, which were hard to tolerate with open windows and as it had been a hot few days and nights closing the windows was not an option for me (the double glazing was very effective though once the windows were closed).

Well, the room was fine - big enough in a good location. I was late but the hostess let me in (had to wake up) and was very kind. I liked the stay overall.

AustriaAs the house is rather old (for me it was ok) you should bring your luggage up using narrow and crooked staircase. But Zara helped me in this case again)))
Location is excellent. 500 m from Maneken Pis. Quiet street The best in the hotel is the owner Zara. She went with me in my car to show the parking and really helped me. She made very good breakfasts for me and she is a very nice person to talk

United StatesThe landlord does not take credit cards, this was not communicated to me prior to my arrival. The booking.com website stated that I could pay with card upon arrival. The landlord said that she had sent an email message but I never received it. I spent a lot of time just trying to find an ATM machine that was both open and operational. It caused me a lot of anxiety which ruined my evening. It is 2024, few people carry cash with them anymore and for a B&B to not take credit cards is not normal. If I had known this, I would not have booked at this venue.
Location was OK, not the best.

Czech RepublicA nice and cozy hotel is filled with stylish, old-fashioned furnishings and flowers. It's really close to the city center - just 5-10 minutes, but is located on a very silent street. Madame Zarin, the owner of the hotel, is a nice and helpful person. I definitely recommend the hotel.
