The staff were so friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The location was amazing, so central! Our room had great air-conditioning so our room was lovely and cool at night to sleep. The beds were very comfortable and the room was so clean. The hotel is a beautiful old building, packed with character and charm. I highly recommend the Hotel Die Swaene

A most beautiful hotel on the canal, with well suited antiques and paintings. Ware and cutlery special. Gorgeous breakfast room and lobby. Our large bedroom was fabulous. Comfortable and quiet. Walk a few minutes to restaurants, bars attractions. Lovely staff. Fantastic breakfast. Great value.

The hotel was in a prime location overlooking the beautiful canal and easy walking distance to highlights of the town. The staff was very friendly and kind. And the rooms were charming! Would highly recommend.

Absolutely nothing, a gem of a hotel.

Lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff. The guest lounge has to be seen to be believed, perfect in every way. Serviced with an honesty bar, just fill out the room number and what you had to drink, to be added to your bill, all drinks reasonably priced, mostly cheaper than the local bars and restaurants. The breakfast is first class with exceptional fayre on offer smoked salmon, local cheese and meats fresh fruits and a wonderful array of assorted breads and rolls and delicious fresh breakfast pastries and freshly brewed coffee, served in a wonderful breakfast room . Far better priced than local cafe bars, exceptional good value.

When we tried to ask the gentleman to borrow an umbrella at the reception for only 30 minutes, surprisingly he said a rude no instead of finding an alternative as we just want a last shopping prior departure.

The reception lady we met on arrival was so friendly and professional to make all my requests so easy and comfortable hassle free. Great location with fantastic canal view.

The rooms at the top don't have proper drapes to block out light / sun. In the winter, that may be fine but in the summer, when the sun starts to come up around 4am, it gets bright very early.

Great breakfast and the staff all went above and beyond....truly. Each and every staffer that engaged with us were so helpful and helpful.

Was going to have a swim whilst we were there. Went into the pool area and the air temperature was too hot to stay in there and there was a very peculiar smell which we could not decipher. (It didn't smell like chlorine).

All the staff were lovely. Very friendly, helpful and informative. From the lady who booked us in, to the cleaners, the waitress at breakfast and the lady who was on reception at checkout time were all wonderful. The hotel itself is beautiful and full of character and charm. Will definitely be returning.

The location, staff, decor, scent/smell. It was beautiful and in a great location. The staff were so lovely too. Would definitely stay here again. We didn’t have breakfast included so can’t comment on this aspect.

Location was excellent, right behing Burg square. Room and hotel itself are beautifully decorated-each room is different. Rooms were spacious with a large comfy bed and modern bathroom. Staff take greeting very seriously-they give a tour through the hotel. They were also very accomodating-any question you have gets answered tight away.

Really hard to find fault. Maybe a couple more options for breakfast? - porridge or options for a cooked breakfast? But I am being picky.

A wonderful location for a beautiful hotel. Lovely spacious room, with an old-fashioned, historic feel - artwork, furniture, internal features. The lounge on the first floor is a stunning rococo masterpiece. Nice swimming pool and sauna. Staff incredibly welcoming, engaging and helpful.

The shabby chic look is overdone. Some furniture needs reupholstering, windows need painting, the hole in the stairs fixing and MOST OF ALL fix the air con. At this price to have no air con in unseasonably hot weather with noisy extractors/other people’s air con units outside your window is unacceptable. We reported it four times and it was still not fixed. Some lack of sleep as a result. Big problem.

If I had to be pushed for anything negative the only really minor things would be the paintwork in the room was looking a little bit tired by my personal standards but it does not affect your stay in any way.

Great location, reception staff are terrific, great local knowledge. Breakfast was lovely and again, super staff. We had room 41 pink room, great themed room, wife felt like a princess in the bed😂😂 Reception area is fab, lounge upstairs is exquisitely decorated and lovely area to chill for a bit. Pool and sauna are a nice extra to have after a long day on your feet. We thought it was good value for money compared to similar hotels we’ve experienced in places like Paris, Amsterdam, London.
