Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaNo suggestions for improvement. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.
Bright, spacious, attractive room and bathroom. Big windows! Host Francis was welcoming, and told me when they renovated the guest rooms they invested in good beds and showers. Boy, he wasn’t kidding. (And I was reminded about how much better both were when I moved on to my next stay at a well known hotel chain.). Bed linens are lovely and towels are plush. Pillows comfortable. The soaps gifted by Francis were really nice, and of course I packed my slightly used bars home with me. They’ll last for some time, and each time I use them I’ll remember my stay at APL8 and Brugge. The complimentary in-room coffee provided was good quality. And while, of course, there is a charge for the mini-bar beverages, his are very reasonably priced. The location of APL8 was an unexpected good surprise. I might not have found my way to the (NOT touristy!) Sint Anna neighbourhood if I hadn’t stayed here. I woke up to quiet and hearing birds cooo each morning. Waking up at and ‘coming home’ to there turned out to be a favourite part of my stay in Brugge. Plus it was a very pleasant, scenic 10 minute stroll to the market square. When I asked Francis for his restaurant recs, he offered me his list. So helpful. I ate dinner at 3 of them and each was different- all good food and comfortable ambience.

United KingdomSlightly bigger bath towels would have been nice, but otherwise everything was great.
The B&B is in a beautiful, quiet square a short walking distance from the centre of town. My room was spacious and well furnished, with all the facilities you could need. The bed was big and comfy, if a little on the soft side. The bathroom was clean with an excellent shower, and the free hand made cosmetics were a nice touch. Complimentary hot drinks, a fridge and smart TV provided lots of home comforts. The host, Francis, was very welcoming and pre arrival info/communication was great.

United KingdomThe duvet felt a bit small, only because of the massive bed! We missed having a bathroom door but we got over that! No other complaints!
The bed was super comfortable. Shower was very good. We liked the coffee in the room. The host was great, although we only met him briefly, the communication via whatsapp was great. Very helpful

United KingdomThere was no door on the toilet. We hated this! Bed sheet was subtlety stained. We couldn’t get the heating to switch on. There was a noise like a fan for 30 seconds every 5 minutes 24/7 There was noise & conversation in the hallway when we in bed late at night. The cleaner woke us up at 8.30 hoovering the hallway.
Black out curtains were really good but the absence of a door let all the light in through the toilet. Bed was comfortable. Toiletries were beautiful. Host was friendly & helpful.

A lovely quiet residential area in Brugge within easy walking distance of the centre. We didn’t sign up for the breakfast as we like to try local cafes and there was a very good one opposite.

SpainThere was an odd smell (like sour garbage) in the B&B. Hopefully it was temporary, but we had to sleep with the windows open and got a few mosquito bites. A bit of a misnomer, breakfast isn't included with the room.
Absolutely beautiful room. The owner is an architect and you could tell by the little details. The blackout drapes, the nightstands with built in wireless phone chargers, the linens and towels and the bathroom -- all top designs. The location was great too -- close enough to the center while far enough to be quiet. Coffee making in room!

GermanyUnfortunately because the building is old there are no elevators which is fine usually but anyone with an issue with walking up the staircase might want to keep that in consideration. The host was nice enough to help us carry our luggage so it was not a big issue for us.
The house is in a good location, Francis was extremely sweet and helpful. The room was a nice size and we had a washroom for private use. Overall it was a satisfying stay in Bruges, the center is only a few minutes walk from the house.
