Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing.
Villa Cardak is a very small boutique hotel that is on the fringe of Old Town and, happily, not within the eye of the storm. It's a 2 minute walk to the heart of everything (such as the Old Bridge), but it's still vey quiet because of it's location. And we still had a very nice view of Old Town and the mountains from the lovely terrace. Also, because of it's location, you can walk in the direction away from Old Town and, literally within seconds, have access to a nice market and a bakery. The proprietors of Villa Cardak are a very sweet couple who are very welcoming and responsive. And I loved the tiles in the spacious bathroom with the great shower.

United StatesI would only advise that the restaurant right across from the property is quite picturesque, the food is pretty bad. My husband (Italian) would say "rocks would be better." Walk a little and find a better place.
Hosts were wonderful, and helpful. Even drove our truck to their parking area (very small streets!) The property is located in the heart of the old town, with easy access by foot to everything. We enjoyed ourselves. The minarets are vocal which adds to the atmosphere. Again, hosts were always available and very helpful!

United StatesEasy & responsive communication by WhatsApp & booking messenger. Upon arrival, we pulled over in front of Dönerland (very tasty!) we were met by the owner and had our car driven down to the villa. It’s a tight squeeze on a cobblestoned downslope filled with tourist pedestrians. We were brought refreshments upon arrival by Suzana who is so warm, welcoming and full of helpful information. She kindly reserved us a table for dinner at URBAN. Unbelievable & highly recommended with very fair prices & gorgeous view! We stayed in the Deluxe Double with Balcony, the room is spacious with a touch of luxury. The bed! So comfortable, the linens were luxurious. Cabinets line the wall for your belongings along with a safe and minibar. Beautiful balcony view and cozy outdoor furniture! The bathroom was very clean, spacious and had a cabinet under the sink for your toiletries. Nice smelling soaps and extra tp. Upon departure in the morning, our car was driven up to the main street for us. Only surprise was that payment was in cash only. The room price is very fair. Was not a problem yet the Booking listing could be updated or a message ahead would have been nice as I am a prepared traveler. We only had one night in Mostar yet it was truly magical!

United StatesNothing - well except, we enjoy the musical call to prayer that one hears in any city with a significant Muslim population, but the recorded voice coming from the closest minaret was so flat and unappealing, and it drowned out the nicer voices coming from minarets farther away. We wondered why the job hadn't gone to someone with a nicer voice. But really, no big deal. The thick glass door to the patio muffles all sounds well.
Well located within the UNESCO heritage zone. A small, tastefully decorated and impeccably clean room that feels more like an airbnb with the owner living downstairs and always available to assist.

LOCATION! it's tucked away so drive slowly and pull aside to call, they will send someone to you and drive you and your car thru a narrow driveway and park your car. These hosts couldn't have been more gracious and accommodating! once parked, everything is right there!

United KingdomNo improvement necessary :-D
This is probably one of the best accommodations I've ever stayed at. Suzana and her husband were kind, proactive and absolutely wonderful hosts throughout our stay, making us feel very welcome. The location is excellent, a tiny stone's throw from the heart of the old town (literally 20 seconds on foot) while being in a secluded area without noise. The room was large, very clean, comfortable with a large bathroom and spacious balcony to enjoy views of the old town. Bed was large and comfortable and there were good facilities e.g. a fridge, a kettle

MalaysiaIt's perfect! Situated in prime location and just 90 meters walk to Mostar Bridge or u can walk down to the riverbank where u can get a very good view of Mostar Bridge. The host, Suzanna and husband are very friendly and really polite. We arrived late, Suzanna and husband helped us with check in, park our car, show us the room, recommend us where to go and served us welcome drink with turkish delight. It was sooo lovely to be welcomed like this after we had long drive from Sarajevo to Mostar. We booked room with balcony. The room is really cozy and clean, with very good touch in deco, spacious and elegant. It is facing the city and very beautiful view from the balcony. We definitely recommend this place and will surely come back again!

United StatesNot one single thing!
Absolutely everything. The Suzana & her husband were amazing. They helped with parking & driving down the narrow road to get to their hotel. Even parked our car in their garage and Suzana even did a load of laundry for us (which we happily paid her for) to save us having to drive a couple miles to do our weekly laundry. It was incredibly nice of her and allowed us to take that time to walk around the city instead. Truly above and beyond. The live music around the corner was a real treat, sitting by the old bridge, listening to classic rock. The view from the balcony was stunning, especially at night. You could not pick a better location in the city to stay whatsoever. The room was phenomenal with a very spacious bathroom & main bedroom/living area. It was the most comfortable bed/bedding and awesome air-conditioning we had on our entire one month trip traveling through Europe (2 to 3 nights in each place). The restaurants they suggested were all excellent at a great price with generous servings. it was literally the best place we stayed our entire trip. It beat out rooms that were €250-€300 per night and other cities we went to.

AustraliaNot really much of a river view from the room, which didn’t have a balcony, but it didn’t matter as the room was lovely and spacious for our needs. You could sit outside in the little courtyard anyway.
Excellent location for exploring the Old Town. Room was spacious and clean. Owners were exceptional and so friendly and eager to help with anything. They tucked our motorbike away in their garage for us and greeted us with a much-appreciated cool drink on arrival. Walkable to restaurants and bazaars in old town.
