Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

KuwaitHotel Bristol is not as advertised. Breakfast was delayed so do not expect it before 9. Although, they say it starts at 8:30 on their signboard. All tours and programmes start at 8 There was no hot water for most of the days. It is a necessity for travellers. No room service. I was informed on the last day that you have to ask for it though the hotel advertises daily housekeeping.
Location was decent but there are definitely other hotspots. Rooms were decently comfortable.

IndiaPoor customer service, rude and miss behaving staff. No online payment - make you rush to market in search of cash Broken bed - two bed were joined and it was broken from center. No Air condition in April - Even as a customer you die out of feeling hot they will not switch on Air condition nor they have any FAN. We called the police as well they promised to get this repaired or they will change the room, but nothing happened and police didn’t even came again to double check the sufferings of tourists in there country

RussiaWe stayed in 2 different rooms and unfortunately our last room was not good. It’s bigger, but almost everything was broken. The hair dryer was broken, the light couldn’t turn off at night, the curtains were hanging down so neighbors could see us. The bathroom was with a big window it was super cold in there and the room as well. And plus last 2 days we didn’t have hot water because of breakdown in this area, I got sick after this trip. The breakfast has small options but still nice.
The stuff and management are very great. They fixed everything we asked for, helped with all our questions including taxi, exchange, restaurants, late breakfast. All our requests were resolved quickly. The location of the hotel is perfect, the view is amazing.

United KingdomBreakfast: it was starting from 9am, which is quite late considering that most of the tours start at 8am, which means that I missed breakfast a few times. When I had breakfast, there were no mugs for coffee, and only after asking I was given one. There were no tissues, cutlery, milk missing most of the times. The cleaning lady was using the vacuum in the room next to the breakfast room, which was so noisy so that I had to rush my breakfast to get away from the noise; it would have been nice if cleaning could start after the breakfast time finishes. Communication: the English level of the staff was poor, I struggled in communicating with them. Some staff members look almost scared when I was talking to them. From a hotel called "Bristol" I would expect at least a basic English level, or I would change the name to make it more clear that it's for locals only. Other: some staff members were watching movies on their phone with a quite high sounds, both late at night (I could hear it from my room) and during breakfast (the reception is just next to the breakfast room, so it was quite irritating). The entrance is quite rough, with two big flights of stairs and no lift. Fortunately the taxi driver helped me with the suitcase, otherwise I would have struggled. I think they could make the entrance a bit more attractive, with some plants at the front door to make guests more welcome, and decorate the walls on the corridor. I think this hotel has a great potential, just some adjustments are required.
The location was amazing, in a very strategic place 3 minutes walking from the Double Gates, 10 minutes from the Promenade, and 2 minutes from Fountain square. So many options for restaurants and bars seconds away. The balcony was lovely, you could experience the great vibe of the city. The price was very reasonable and great value for money considering the location.

LuxembourgThe building inside is very badly renovated, unfinished and quite dirty (especially the entrance staircase). The rooms themselves have traces of dirt and old paint on the walls although the floors looked clean enough. Bathrooms got the yellowish color of old tiles and looked unclean (old plastic slipper did not help the overall image). One of the balcony doors did not close properly letting even more noise in. Probably to avoid in the week preceding the F1 race as the city builds fences right below the hotel in the middle of the night.
The staff was very helpful on several occasions and tried their best to make themselves understand even if not all of them spoke English. They also allowed us to change rooms. Biggest perk is for sure the location.
