Stayed in a spacious private room for a couple of nights before Fraser Island Tour. Ideally located in town and good happy hour at bar. Free BBQ night was good also. Greyhound/Premier bus stops right outside which is handy.

The bathrooms were extremely dirty and looked they have never been cleaned. No outlets near the beds and wifi was not good in the rooms. The bathrooms are annoying because the sink, toilet, and shower are all in one room so only one person can use it at a time. Half of the laundry machines are broken.

Nothing - very decent budget accommodation.

We are not your usual hostel users but we had a really enjoyable stay at Freedom. We got in to Rainbow Beach at around 0800 and not only could we drop our bags but we were also able to use all of the hostel facilities which was great. We booked a room with private bathroom and it was really comfortable and even came with a fridge. The hostel has a 2230 noise curfew and we were not kept up at all.

Some staff members seemed a bit off and a bit impatient. I asked ahead if early check in was available and was given a blanket no. The overnight greyhound bus gets in at 8.30 am daily so naturally people are pretty desperate to freshen up so upon arrival I saw another guest asking if they can check in early and was told no pretty abruptly no as it was busy season. We were told we could use the communal living room and kitchen if required. Worth noting that I took a look round the hostel and could see quite a lot of rooms were already turned over. At 1pm they announced all the rooms were clean. I feel they could have let guests in as and when they were ready rather than wait for all rooms to be available. The kitchen was pretty grubby, surfaces clearly get cleaned once a day but walls and items pretty dirty. Sponges being used a fair bit longer than they should be. lots of items not working like some of the fridges, the grill, the larger swimming pool was undergoing work. I would have preferred lockers to be available in the rooms rather than a room that's locked overnight.

Basic hostel in a great location. Few minutes walk to shops and cafes, 10min walk to the beach and most tour operators will stop here. The room was spacious and very clean. The ensuite shared bathroom was pretty tired looking but was clean. Some staff members were really friendly and sausage sizzle night was a success. Bed was comfortable and lockers were available but not in your room. This hostel has everything you need including laundry, book exchange, clothing exchange etc.

No internet so tv for the whole four days. No curtain rail or curtain for the shower so water went all around the toilet making it quite slippery. Noisy at night from bar area but noise curfew after 10.30 No hooks to hang towels or clothes.

Beds very comfortable. Room a good size. Staff were fantastic. Leah the receptionist was amazing, went above and beyond to help. Bar and happy hour fantastic.

Booked into a six-bed dorm but ended up having it to myself for the two nights. Great location close to the beach and shops and the staff were exceptionally courteous and friendly.
