Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaEvelyn & Stuart were very friendly hosts. The suite was super comfortable with the luxury of a large spa bath. It was wonderful to stay at a working vineyard & Evelyn cooked the best French Toast for breakfast I've had in a long time. Very handy to great restaurants, cafes & cellar doors.

AustraliaNothing, was impressed
Wow, upon arrival, you’re greeted by the owners, Stuart and Evelyn, who genuinely want you to be part of their journey. The location is quiet and peaceful, and the property is immaculate, providing everything you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is a highlight, especially the chorizo omelette—it’s delicious! I’ll definitely be coming back for future stays! What’s even better is that they support local farmers and businesses, which adds to the community feel and sustainability of the experience. The Red Door Collective RDC is a must for a reset and relaxation getaway. It’s the perfect place to unwind and recharge!

Evie and Stewart are the most amazing hosts (by the time we left it felt like they were old friends), happy to give suggestions on places to visit, eat and do tastings. The first day, we did a wine tasting including a cheese platter with them, their wines are so full of flavour (the Frizzante was an absolute winner for me). We stayed in Chardonnay cottage which was perfect, spotlessly clean and had literally everything we could ask for. They even did the most amazing charcuterie board for us to enjoy on the patio while enjoying the sunset (highly recommend). Breakfast each morning was exceptional and huge portions, we are coffee snobs and Stewart’s coffee was perfect 👌🏻. We will definitely be back and with friends too 💕.

AustraliaThere is nothing not to like.
This is a beautiful spot on Hermitage Road between Broke and Pokolbin. Evelyn and Stewart are amazing hosts and joy to chat with. The breakfasts are very generous and tasty and Stewart's barista skills yield a great coffee! The accommodation is well appointed and cosy with a very homely and genuine feel to the whole place. And on top of that, their single vineyard wines are excellent! Thanks for a great weekend!

Absolutely loved the balance between the privacy we experienced with our cottage and the large amount of open space on the property with the friendly and inviting environment in the main building/restaurant with the other visitors and Evie and Stew. Breakfast and the coffee was fantastic, lvoed that they ahd us set up by the fireplace and remembered our order from one day to the next. The cottage was gorgeous, sitting on the balcony and watching the sunset at golden hour, the beautiful big bathtub, the warm room with lots of rugs and blankets. I loved walking around the property with the fresh air, beautiful views and gardens.

AustraliaNothing, it’s perfect!
Everything is wonderful - the location, the views, the comfy bed, the fire place, the wine, but nothing beats the wonderful hosts Stewart and Evelyn and their big pups Mona and Geronimo. Evelyn makes the best brekkie and Stewarts coffee is perfect first thing in the morning, they are so kind and fantastic to chat to. They made my birthday special and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.

AustraliaWe have a king sized bed at home so we find anything smaller a bit o a challenge 😂. We booked a two bedroom cottage which was a bit pricier than the other options and more than we needed for the two of us - but we wanted the wood fire which was lovely in the Hunter Valley winter.
Well appointed cottage with full sized fridge so we were able to bring some cheeses and other snacks from home. Plenty of wood available for our fire - we were certainly cosy! Got to choose a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival (pinot noir- delicious!). Amazing a la carte breakfast and barista coffee included (I had yummy french toast both days). Evie and Stew were the perfect hosts - we enjoyed meeting them and chatting over breakfast. Really well located for the wineries we wanted to visit on this trip.

The Red Door is not only a wonderful place to stay in the Hunter Valley as it is close to the popular vineyards and restaurants but it is a place where you will feel at home, the owners Evelyn and Stuart and of course Geronimo & Mona the The cutest dogs made our stay a unique experience. When you visit them, be sure to try Evelyn's wonderful dinners. We were really surprised by how well she cooks. We had a beautiful experience and I hope you have yours, we will definitely return, I just hope that with all the good reviews we find a place to book.

The cottage was devine, the decor was impecable… The fireplace & spa bath topped it off!🥰 Evelyns meals are next level!!! We had laksa delivered to our cottage on a chilly evening after a long day wine tasting….OMG!…the silence as we enjoyed every bit of flavour… Do NOT leave without having Evelyns laksa & curries!!! AustraliaEvelyn and Stewart were absolutely incredible. I've stayed at many places across the globe (including high-end accommodation in Japan) and I've never experienced such amazing hospitality. The breakfast blew me away with locally-sourced ingredients and Evelyn is a magician in the kitchen. This location is a textbook Hunter Valley getaway and we couldn't be happier with our experience. The abundance of perfect reviews may seem too good to be true, but I promise you that Evelyn and Stewart are just that good. The passion they share for their guest's experience shines through and I've never felt so comfortable staying at any other accommodation, anywhere. If you're looking for the ideal stay at the Hunter Valley, I implore you to look no further. You've found it.
