Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

Lovely hotel, clearly recently renovated. Delightful staff, attended to all requests within 5 mins (e.g. extra towels, helping with bags, valet parking etc.). Great restaurant & cafe options within walking distance.

AustraliaThere were a few minor things that negatively impacted my overall rating. Upon checking in there was a $100 deposit required. I fully understand why and what it’s for but this wasn’t mentioned on any information sent via booking.com and although we thankfully had the funds for it, there might be someone out there who doesn’t. The property might like to add this information to their description or the message they send once the booking has been made :) another thing was upon checking out if you chose to buy any items from the mini bar you are required to list them out in front of a foyer filled with people and that felt quite demeaning and ultimately effected the end of my stay. I understand that staff need to know but perhaps the tablets could be used to record items or a list could be filled out by guests and dropped off at check out. The only other grievance I had was despite travelling with family I couldn’t access their level without them. This made it difficult when needing items and information as we had to go all the way back down to the bottom, meet them in the foyer then go all the way back up to their level. Of course these details are very minor things and overall my stay was still fantastic but they do have an impact on the experience.
The view, location, staff and amenities were some of the best I’ve ever experienced. The finer details were well thought out and it’s an eco conscious choice when booking. The tablets had so much information and help was never far away. Our car was kept safe overnight and the room was so clean and homey. The glass water bottles and refilling stations were a great touch. Everyone should also have the contact details of whoever designed the bathroom because it is GORGEOUS
