The Rainforest Retreat was even better than we had hoped. The entire experience was amazing. Our days were packed with site seeing and I only wish we had more time to enjoy the property.

Struggled with the lack of privacy as the cabin below could look straight up at us and vice versa and we had to hang blankets and towels up to get privacy. Would suggest adding an optional curtain on that side of the cabin, or even just adding some panels to the end of the balcony would obstruct the view better

The location and view from the cabin was unbeatable. All the little touches provided such as shampoos, extra towels, milk etc were much appreciated. Bed was very comfy!

Very small kitchen inside. Under the sink where cutlery and utensils were kept smelt quite mouldy. Also, not a lot of space for storage of bags, clothes etc.

We were unaware on booking that most of the kitchen facilities were shared in a separate area near the pool (a common area shared with the other cabin). This area was set up with a BBQ and a lovely welcoming and relaxed area with a large long table, chairs and bench, a couch and TV (all outdoors and under shelter). There was no toaster that we could find although it was listed. I have no doubt if we asked all would have been sorted but we decided not to ask. There was also no shampoo and initially the shower curtain was not there but appeared on our second day there. The kitchen/handbasin had a leak which gave the area under the hand basin a strong damp smell and on the last day the water leaked slightly onto the floor. This really does need to be fixed. Some minor renovations probably need to be carried out on the property.

The location of the property was wonderful. It was quiet and very beautiful with the rainforest as a backdrop and view. One felt that they were in actually holidaying in a rainforest. There were beautiful sounds of nature to wake up to. The view from the bed outwards to the rainforest also stunning. The bed was comfortable. There were adequate towels. The owners of the property were friendly.

The area below the sink/basin was a little bit damp but it was due for repairs and really it did not affect us..

The location and setting in a calming relaxing environment was just what we were after. The forest surrounds and the accommodation were as unique as I had hoped. I hope that the repairs to the damaged cabin are going well

It was a bit difficult to access with large luggage. There were an awful lot of ants constantly in the room despite closed doors.

It is quite a way from the downtown area, and no restaurants nearby. But worth it. Just need to plan for it.

A wonderful retreat! This place is special, with the rain forest literally outside your door. Very romantic and idyllic setting. Thoughtful extras, including extra towels, sunscreen and bug spray. Great outdoor kitchen set up, with seating area. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Having to leave our little cabin retreat and pool!

Where do we start! We absolutely loved our 3 night stay at this incredible private location nestled in the rainforest with a flowing creek/waterfall right beside us - but only 10 minutes drive into Cairns CBD. Our hosts went above and beyond - thank you Ingrid and Antje for everything and we can’t wait to visit you again as soon as we can come back to Cairns. Already missing our afternoon swims in your incredible pool and drinks on be deck with the sounds of nature everywhere. We will definitely be back asap!

More hooks etc would be good for hanging clothes etc. A minor issue.

An honest, warm and hospitable welcome by Ingrid the owner. The cabin is tucked in the urban rainforest and is one of only two on site. Bed was comfortable and the aircon efficient. The cabin has a good sized bath and shower above and the on-site pool is great to relax. A little rainforest retreat which is just 10 minutes from Cairns - a car is a must.
