Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaI had read previous reviews so had come armed with sheets to put up to cover windows that pretty much every previous review had said, were broken or non existent. The front glass sliding doors, looking out at the street, were impossible to cover. The bedrooms and side window we managed to put up sheets to block some light out. The beds were all atrocious. The mattresses should’ve been replaced about a decade ago. One air con in the living room which worked well. However didn’t reach either bedroom, one had a stand fan which was sufficient and the other had nothing so was like a furnace.
Of course - the location! Can’t beat that. The kitchen and shower were also very good.

AustraliaFloor needed a more thorough cleaning, air-conditioning not working, leaking bathroom tap (was quickly replaced by holiday letting agent when we let them know), kitchen needs a couple more crockery items for long term stays - e.g. couple more pots and a steamer insert etc.

AustraliaSent an email to the letting agent to be helpful if they needed to get contractors in and the property was vacant after my stay. No response after 3 days. So here is the contents of my email. ------ ...I had 5 mins to type a list of items needing attention. Prefer to do this then posting online in a review: 1. 3 doors dont shut properly - too tight 2 shower taps need turning tightly to stop them dripping 3. Slight leak in back of toilet bowl 4. Screens to shower and toilet need a clean of dust 5. Springs in single bed are gone! (And bottom bunk) I also suggest: 6. Screen on balcony sliding doors for insects, coupled with curtains for privacy (people can see in from main walkway) 7. Getting a bbq if that is what is continued to be posted as there is none (should also say parking is available on site) Otherwise property is good as shown my initial booking.com review --------

AustraliaCouldn't park in garage due to limited access. Suitable for small cars only. Mattresses on all beds were extremely uncomfortable and felt sandy. I rewashed sheets for sanitation assurance. No curtain for privacy on large loungeroom glass sliding door/ main road. Glass door facing beach was caked with sea salt and did not appear that regular cleaning of this large glass door occurs. Lounge needs a good steam clean or replacement. Good size but dated and soiled.
Friendly and helpful staff at the agency of the key pick up. Were diligent about party groups. Large kitchen, good storage if bringing own food. Location was the highlight.

AustraliaBeds were uncomformable, outdoor setting is broken so 2 seats did not open. Front door code kept failing and all the holiday rentals were locked outside numerous times. Wardrobes and parking space were a mess with rubbish throughout, the blinds in the 2nd bedroom wouldn't come down (they were permanently raised) needed to improvise with hanging beach towns up as curtains. Make sure you access your keys fron the front door of your apartment, not the front door of the complex. Under the lounge cushions was covered in sand.

GermanyNo WiFi. The apartment was very noisy, with the doors shaking when anyone walked in the stairwell and the windows being so bad that it sounded like the birds were in the bedroom. There was almost no toilet paper and no wash cloth or dishwashing powder to wash dishes.
