Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe staff weren’t very welcoming or friendly. Communication with the property about parking wasn’t forthcoming so we parked elsewhere. The room smelled musty when we arrived. The pillows weren’t comfortable. The shower in the bathroom leaked. The breakfast was ok but the breakfast room itself was far too cramped.
We booked a room here for a two-night stay in September 2024 in order to explore the city. The booking was on the cheap end as we just needed somewhere to stay for the night.

RussiaThe smell of sweat in the room. There was a lack of fresh air. One window couldn't be opened (there was no remote control for blinds, and the table was on the way), another was too close to bed (and all dust from the road would be on your pillow if you opened the window widely). The room is OK for max 3 people, not for 5.
The location, the staff, and the breakfast were good.

United KingdomRoom gets very warm even at night. Staff not friendly.
No air condition, only a ceiling fan, it’s not enough so we end up opening the window. Very noisy outside, all night long there’s people shouting and the cars of course. It wasn’t a restful night for us.

LithuaniaThere was a sofa in the room, but it would be uncomfortable to sleep on it. The windows of the room were on a noisy street near the train station, so it was not possible to sleep with the window open. The hotel's information is not accurate. Although the information stated that the room had carpeting and an iron, it did not. The toilet handle in the room was broken, but it was not fixed when we asked for it.
The hotel is conveniently located close to the train station and attractions. On a hot night, only the ceiling fan helped us.

PhilippinesOverall, it was good. The room was small with 3 people and we pulled the beds away from the walls since we didn't want to be right up next to them.
The breakfast was good and sufficient. The woman who helped in the morning was very friendly and helpful. It was close to the train station and public transport. The ceiling fan helped with the heat.

GermanyThere is nobody on the front desk in the evening, so if you need assistance you cant get it. Stinking, overflowing cans of garbage are directly at the enterance to the hotel, which gives a very unpleasant feeling.

FranceI had to pay the twice the city taxes. In my bill it clearly mentioned that I paid the room price and the city taxes. But the receptionist told me to pay again and I paid 2€ each for 6 pax. Also, I booked two rooms for 6 pax. (Including 2 kids). And it’s clearly mentioned in my reservation but The receptionist tried to charge me more.
The hotel is very close to the Salzburg station. Also walking distance to the fortress and to the mirabelle garden. But, the area so so crowded.

GermanyWe stayed at five bed room. But the charging port was only two and it was difficult to charge the electronics as you also cannot charge during breakfast(need room key for electricity).
The location was great, easily reachable by foot from Salzburg main station. There are options for food near by the hotel. Easier to reach salzburg city by bus and by foot. We had breakfast option at hotel, it was really good and had a lot of options(bread, coffe, juice, cheese, fruits etc..)
