Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceAny room in the whole city of BA is poorly isolated against the noise. Le petit Palais is no exception. And BA is a noisy city! Bring your ear plugs!
Gilles et ses 4 chats sont adorables. Hyper sociables et plein de bons conseils.

United KingdomThe 4 cats!!! And not forgetting the wonderful host, Gilles. He cooked an amazing breakfast and shared great recommendations! We enjoyed relaxing and chatting. He has an excellent eye for design and taste. The location is great for restaurants and bars. Lovely sunny and plant covered terrace too. We'll be back in the summer to see how the kitten, Elliot, has grown. Salut!

United KingdomNot being able to access the terrace and upstairs late at night. But considering that the host lives in the same house, it's understandable that guests don't have access at night due to the configuration of the house. There is not much that can be done. But yes, as guests we wish we had an airy space where to go in the evening which wasn't our own room.
Lovely breakfast by the host, one of the best we had in Argentina. The location was also good. We felt safe and there plenty of options for everything. The room was very clean. Lots of recommendations on arrival by the host on things to do and places where to eat.

United KingdomAs the building is facing towards a street, although not very busy like a big avenue, but still with some traffic, and as my room was at street level, there was some noise, but not too much. Also, most likely because the building is old and preserved, there is no air-conditioning, which on hot days can be challenging by using only fans. That, though, is something quite common in Argentina, as I tried a few accommodations, and none had air-conditioning.
Le Petit Palais is a great accommodation, a beautiful building, excellently preserved and decorated by the owner and host, Gilles. It is very central, close to most central things in Buenos Aires. Gilles is very hospitable, friendly, accomodating and very helpful with all my questions, tips and everything I needed to arrange after I arrived. Also, the breakfast he made for us every day, was amazing! Also, both my room and all the shared areas were spotless clean, which was great!

United StatesStreet is noisy, there are urban buses on the street from early to pretty late. Host will give you a plethora of 'rules' to follow (no shoes, careful with the furniture, keys, noise, etc), which we really didn't mind but, you do feel you are a guest in somebodies house the whole time and this may not let you totally relax if thats what you want.

Hong KongAlthough the neighbourhood is safe and quiet, it is a 10+ minute walk away from the heart of Palermo. Though we enjoyed the daily stroll through the neighbourhood - and taxis are highly affordable and accessible - do keep this in mind!
We loved our experience at Le Petit Palais. Gilles (and his adorable cats!) is a friendly and helpful host - he gave us superb recommendations for where to eat and what to do in the city. Extra kudos for one of the best breakfasts we had on our trip to Argentina!

United KingdomUnfortunately, we arrived in BA to a heat wave and this older property was not suitable to be adapted with modern air conditioning. The host did a good job with fans and heat management - old style for an old building - very respectful.
The property was a hidden gem in amongst the taller and newer surrounding buildings, with a "secret courtyard" entrance and heaps of character. So hidden we at first thought that we had come to the wrong place!

PortugalThe room doesn't have A/C (just a fan), so if you will stay during summer and you suffer from very hot days, think twice. You need to use bedroom slippers (provided at the arrival) inside the house.

ItalyThere is just a bit too much noise from the street for my taste. But I live in Rome in a very quiet street so I am probably not used to it :) Other than this, all perfect!

GuatemalaA beautiful little spot in the heart of Buenos Aires. The host gives wonderful recommendations for your time in BA and is always happy to help organize a taxi and get you where you need to be. It was a bit hot in the evenings as it was summer time in BA and there was only a fan in the room, no AC, but this was stated beforehand and understood. Otherwise, everything was lovely and the breakfast is fabulous! Homemade bread yogurt, breads, and jams alongside fresh OJ. Definitely a unique experience and would come back again.
