Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNo wifi, but that adds to the authenticity of the experience.
Great experience here, lovely place to stay close to beaches and the lovely town. Manthos, the host, did a great job of looking after everyone and creating a nice vibe for the hostel.

PolandYou should not expect much from the standard. Conditions for those who like simplicity and the company of others.
The host exceptionally friendly and good-natured. We were welcomed with great confidence. A place with very good energy, certainly good for a rest.

AlbaniaSome of the kitchen facilities looked a bit old and not easy to use.
The location and decoration of the hostel was unique. It was a super tranquil and taxes stay. Also the host showed a lot of flexibility with the timings.

the place is an old school but is well preserved and very close to nature and the main road that takes you to the village or Himare, there is no Wi-Fi but you can go to the restaurant nearby and use there. Manfros is such a nice host, and made me feel welcome all the time and even took me to Gjipe beach. I had a very good time there.

UkraineThe beach was too far so we were hitchhiking and asking Manthos (the manager) to pick us up home. The toilet is downstairs away from the rooms and the douche cabins need to be slightly renovated.
Super chill vibes. You feel like you’re in a Mexican rancho in the middle of a desert in Texas with cowboys. The staff volunteers were cute but kinda weird in a way because me and my (female) travel partner chose a mixed room to be together and they checked us in into a female dorm (glad it wasn’t a problem for other females in the room). Other than that the staff were super chill and friendly and safe. It was quiet and peaceful during the day and evening (as for mid August 2021).

GermanyThe hostel is near the small town of Vuno, surrounded by trees and very quiet. The place is located in an old school building and has an area in the front to chill outside, where you can listen to good music the owner selected. I loved the outdoor showers and the campfire in the evening. The campfire is a great opportunity to meet and connect with new people. If you stay there you should go up to Vuno and have some food at "Mom's food", it is really good! Thanks to Manthos and Armando for the great stay!

United KingdomIf you you are looking for a luxury this is not the place but if you want an experience back to basics and a taste of Albanian history this is it.
This hostel is very unique, it was an old school set in a beautiful location in nature and part off the old town which is beautiful to wonder round. The host is super friendly. I really enjoyed sitting round the camp fire meeting with other travellers.

NetherlandsI loved this hostel. The host, Manthos, was really nice and helpfull. The facilities where oldschool, just how I like it. Everything you need was there, I could even wash my clothing and Manthos helped with everything I needed. A really nice backpackers hostel full with nice travelers from all over the world who, if you like, could sit together at the fireplace in the evening. I would rate it a big 10

EstoniaThis is the real backpackers experience. Plenty of social areas to meet, but also plenty of space to be on one's own. I loved the disconnection with external world this place allows. The fireplace outside putting everyone together was perfect touch for the peaceful vibe. I'll come back!

United StatesIt’s a really cool place immersed in nature. The room was clean and comfortable, and the whole place has a great vibe. Owner and volunteers were kind and welcoming. As long as you’re aware of what you’re getting into (a rural location with cold showers, toilets are a hole in the ground, no wifi, etc.) then you’ll have a great experience here.

United StatesIt's very basic although the hostel has everything you need and more. It's geared towards those who like to be in nature (outdoor showers, latrines, bonfires, etc.)!
Perfect place to slow down and connect with nature. Amazing views and plenty of chill, outdoor areas. There was a nightly bonfire where everyone gathered around as well as some shared meals. Plenty of hiking options and just a wonderful, funky hostel! The owner, Manthos, and the volunteers were all great!
