Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOur room had a sewer smell coming from under the sink in the bathroom. It seemed to go away the next morning, but returned again the next day. We delayed complaining about this until our 3rd day when it got really bad. The assistant manager was very nice and switched us to another room (upgrade), which we were very grateful for. The buffet was OK, but not on par with the Las Vegas buffets we had experienced previously. Also the distance between the different stations was too far and made it difficult to figure out where everything was until we got use to the locations after several days. I wold also suggest a few more places where guests could get quick snacks and meals instead of having to go to the high end restaurants. I know you have Malibu and the Tea Room, which we utilized, but feel you could have a few more restaurants with different selections.
The room layout and the hotel in general was very good. Grounds were very well landscaped and maintained. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous when we reported our issue in the bathroom and whenever we encountered any of the staff.

United Arab Emirates1.The reception area is damn funny and inconvenient. 2.Hotel ground floor Lobby was not managed well too much rush and crowd . 3.The person at the water park entrance while giving batch was absolutely rude and not professional. 4.We had late check in almost post 6pm and we were asked to check out at their time hardly any 30-40 mins grace . The manager actually came to the room to inform us . At buffet the staff wasn’t that attentive . Food was okay at buffet. 5. The manager or some senior girl at Cloud 22 I felt she is also not professional not courteous enough to take order although there was 10 mins for the restaurant to shut and serving one drink from bar Wudnt have costed her anything although I was happy the African guy there served us the drink very politely . Except her all the staff at the cloud reception was warm and amazing . 6.The buffet staff need to be more attentive and should give a luxury experience also at the stay . 7. The property only lacked in giving the truly luxury experience to the visitor which is as basic as being calm warm and attentive . Else the property is absolutely stunning so you actually enjoy every min there .
Everything was fascinating

Saudi ArabiaThe reception and check-in process took a very long time. Communication with me before arriving at the resort was extremely poor. The booking system rejected my credit card online, and they sent me threatening messages that the reservation would be canceled if the full payment was not made before arrival. I did not like this approach at all.
The room, the view, the lobby, and the seating areas were wonderful, with spacious areas and beautiful decorations. Additionally, the kids’ club and the spa were among the best facilities available. Furthermore, the diverse food options satisfied all tastes.

United Arab EmiratesOnly negative is the new price tariffs at Cloud 22. We spent two days there last time we came but this time the new prices are unacceptable. 470aed just for a sunbed non-redeemable even for hotel guests. Also new morning and sunset sessions - real shame as we enjoyed it so much but unless the prices change we won’t visit again.
It is our 2nd time at the Royal- we booked last year while we were still having breakfast on our last day. A year later, it still doesn’t disappoint.. room, staff and service exceptional. The little touches of sandals for kids and adults- lovely We’ll be back soon!

United Arab EmiratesThe price of the buffet for kids is expensive they are not eating a lot. They have 8 & 12 years old and they are eating one plate of pasta some bread and one ice cream. 150 aed each its a lot. No teens kids club and sustainable activities for 8 years old and more. No access free to Cloud 22.
Everything is clean, the staff is amazing, oriented customer satisfaction. We enjoyed a lot. We spent a very good time and we celebrated Eid and weddings very nicely. Our experience is a success!

United KingdomA big downside for me is that there is an additional cost to use the rooftop pool - Cloud 22. I understand that the hotel want to keep this exclusive, but not offering any deals or discounts to hotel paying guests isn't right given that we are already spending a lot of money to stay at the property.
An amazing hotel which really focuses on the experiences. From the multi-cuisine breakfast, to the breathtaking rooms & views of the palm, there is nothing I can fault. You pay for what you get at the end of the day, and though this hotel is extremely expensive, the experience is second to none. I highly recommend trying out some of the in-house restaurants including Jaleo & the Royal Tea Room. Use the free sprinter to get to the Atlantis, The Palm and check out Nobu as well!
