The level of diving taught here is quite high and just outside the resort. There's already a lot of activity and coral reefs in the area. I did my open water here and I was able to dive with good bouyancy in Balicasag. I was also told when we did our dives in other places that my bouyancy was good especially having had not as much experience and it's because of the training here. The staff is also extremely well trained. The food is high quality .Better than even the more expensive hotels we stayed in the past. They really took care of us and helped us plan everything smoothly so we're able to get to our ferry on time. The pricing is also very cheap and very fair. You still need to bring cash but this was the only place we visited that had an arrangement where you can do e transfer but receive cash back and this helps so much travelling in the province. We chose La Tortue because my partner is french and I wanted him to feel safe and have a good trip during the first time we brought him to the Philippines. We don't regret choosing here. Also, the costs for laundry, food, pedicab were very reasonable. So reasonable that our fare of 600 php from the port to Dauin. The pedicab who took my cousin and his partner from Manila tried to charge them 1200 PHP or double the cost. It's ridiculous. We trusted their pedicab driver so much. We asked them to take my cousin to the port even if they were staying in a different hotel. You won't regret choosing this place. It's kind of funny how their instructors were all just here on vacation and somehow. They never wanted to leave so they end up working there. Also, their staff followed them even from where the couple originally worked.

We really loved our time here, situated up the mountain away from the noise and heat was perfect, close to all the great trekking trails and waterfalls all within walking distance, the place itself was immaculately clean and “A” Adrian is a very easy going and polite guy who gave us great recommendations for food and waterfalls to see. We were sad to leave after just 5 nights and would definitely come back as the area was our favourite in the Philippines.

The accommodation is approximately a 30-minute drive from the local airport. For scuba-diving enthusiasts, the resort is just a short trip to renowned dive sites in Asia including Apo Island, Siquijor and the local Dauin Marine Sanctuaries. breakfast was great all 4 days we were there. The servers were very welcoming. The servers paid close attention to details and really liked the fact that they always made it a point to call me by my first name (my preference).

It was close enough to Dauin Beach that it was walkable, but far enough that there was a lot of quiet if you wanted it. All the food we tried at the resort was good! The staff were also friendly and helpful.

Thalatta Resort is approximately 24 km from Dumaguete on Negros Island. The property is located close to Malatapay Market and Apo Island Pier I loved the rooms and hot shower. I loved the restaurant and pool. I loved the chef specials! The location was great(near diving and Apo Island excursions. The property is immaculate.

In general, I think Mahi Mahi reaches the ceiling of a resort in the world (from a person who travels to over 15 countries and zones). It could fit in all the imagination of a resort that you could have. I will definitely go back there again. 1. Hospitality - Everyone would say hi to you with a big genuine smile, 'Hi Sir~' 😊 is the most common word I heard there. - Helped to check out everything with Aplipay when I don't have enough cash (which really rescued my holidays) - Delivered all the requirements I had with patients all the time: e.g. helped to book a boutique 🌹 for me so I could propose secretly and surprise my fiance 2. Amazing view with an amazing price - The resort itself is a modern designed place and can easily stand out from other resorts in the Philippines - LOVE THE VIEW OF APO 🐢 🪸 🐟on both sunny and cloudy and rainy days - Even tho the price of food&Diving is slightly more expensive than in the town (Dumaguete), the quality is much better, even better than most of the popular restaurants in Panglao (Bohol) 3. SEA TOUR (Snorkeling, Diving or just laying on the beach) - A private boat that could take you to the diving spots (where you can see all the coral reefs SUPER clearly even that they are 10-20m deep) - NO ONE SELLS YOU ANY DAY TOUR (I went to Bohol later and it was so annoying that everyone sells and bothers you for their day tour) - 👏RELIABLE GUIDE (Talked me through and practice with me in the resort pool before I start diving) - 🥹RELIABLE GUIDE (calmed me down 10m under the ocean when I got panicked) - 👍RELIABLE GUIDE (who took our packed lunch for us even when we forgot) 4. Day Tour - We went to Valencia and saw the most incredible natural hot gas view with some amazing waterfalls 5. LGBTQ Friendly 🌈 There are so many things I want to write it down there...I just love there and it definitely gave me the best experience I ever had when I'm travelling around the world.
