Most and foremost, the team is making the stay at Harmony so special. We've been taken so warmly cared of, the team is available, friendly, always ready to help. The resort is right on the beach. So if you book snorkelling trips through the resort, you can easily access to the boat as it will be parked in front of the resort. I enjoyed the beautiful view from the dining area. You can watch sunset from the resort. The resort is also near the border between the Muslim and Christian kampung. There is nearby ATM which I never tried. There are also nearby local shophouses and dive shops. You can walk to the main jetty. The locals are friendly and warm so don’t forget to put up your smiley face and say Hi!. The resort serve delicious local food which you can order for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is generous so if you can’t finish, let the workers know that you want less servings so you won’t waste the food. Or you can also pack to bring along for snorkeling trips. Tips for travellers who are first time coming here: As it is on an island, the electricity works on generator. Standby a torch or a headlight in case the electricity turned off suddenly at night. From my experience, the electricity trip normally took about 5 to 15 minutes. I stayed in the lower floor. The lights in the room were dim and my eyesight was not so good. Thankfully I brought my headlight. Like most island resorts, there is no tv. So download your favourite movies beforehand so you can play it anytime. There is wifi but the speed is unpredictable.

The journey is definitely part of the adventure to reach Wakatobi, but oh so worth it! From Bali we flew to Makassar and BauBau, then 2 ferries to reach Tomea Island and a few car transfers in between. Marcel, the wonderful owner and his team helped arrange the transfers and took such good care of us while at Marind Dive Eco Resort. Delicious meals served by Mama Cantika, gorgeous sunset ocean view, lovely garden, very comfortable and spacious cabins - we loved the large bathrooms. Tomea is way off the beaten track so there are very few tourists along the way, it is exceptionally peaceful. Time slows way down here. My 3 teenagers and I snorkeled around Sawa and Tomea Islands with a guide, the reefs here are alive! From endless iridescent corals, reef walls brimming with all sorts of sea life, swimming through large schools of fish, watching turtles float past us and even seeing a number of feared Krate sea snakes elegantly swim by, we had an incredible time. It is helpful to know key phrases in Bahasa as few people speak English in this area. A more conservative wardrobe is recommended when out and about in this part of Indonesia, in respect of local customs.

Best location on the island- sunset behind the volcano, great snorkeling just out the front, cozy little beach bar. Fabulous owner and team, paired with equally wonderful dive team next door. Helpful arranging transport and payments (no ATM on island, or any shops- stock up before leaving mainland!) Amazing meals and food! It's basic accomodation so expect to forfeit luxury for location and fabulous vibes.
Rahel, our hostess was very very responsive in answering to all our queries prior to our arrival at the resort. She assisted us in arranging for transportation to Makassar airport and hiring a boat to Liukang Island, she was extremely efficient and helpful. Breakfast was awesome and plentiful. We have an excellent sea view from our room and we loved the hammocks too. Sharil and the boys were simply amazing, always willing to assist with a smile! We had an amazing time.
Incredible location with a view of Mount Lokon, which can be enjoyed from a hammock outside your room. Comfiest bed I've ever slept in! Incredibly lovely staff and owner who offers tours to local sights, like the volcano, waterfalls and market. The restaurant at the resort is very very delicious so worth eating there!
Absolutely beautiful views from the restaurant. The sunsets are amazing. My bungalow was very nice and they cleaned, changed towels and gave water each day (if I wanted). Comfy bed and I liked the outdoor bathroom. Easy access to the water but need to go somewhere else if you want to sit in the sun on the beach. Everyone was friendly and the food was good. Good location just 5 min walk to blue planet dive resort (which was great for diving!)
Well maintained, great staff, well run dive operation. All the dive gear was in great order, the staff focussed on providing an enjoyable dive with.an appropriate level of safety. The night dives were extraordinary, and the onshore resort very comfortable. There’s a great bar just up the road when you’ve had enough Bintang at the resort that smashes Caparinhas. Really enjoyable range of guests, mostly dive nuts but generally quite harmless. Would be very happy to stay here again.
The place is really nice, beautiful surroundings, very good snorkeling right in front. The bungalows are comfortable enough if you don.t need a lot of luxury. Food is also pretty good. And the family are all very sweet.
we love the quietness of this remotely located resort! The swimming pool, garden and the jetty are nice... The staff are kind and helpful. The bathroom is unique and the room is big enough for our family of 3 people. They set the sofa into a bed for our teenage boy and he loves it! :)
Very good food. All staff ( resort and dive center) absolutely helpull at all times. Highly recommended.
The staff are extremely accommodating and helpful. They try very hard to give you a top knotch experience. The dive masters, cooks, and reception check in with you multiple times a day to ensure you have everything you need. The dive spots were great and the care was fabulous. Their resort is tucked away on quiet Bunaken island.
Onong was being upgraded with renovations so guests were put next door in Kuda Laut which is a luxury resort owned by the same people. Very lucky!!!
