You can also take your own boat and catch a lot of fish in the area. Very nice beach easy to swim .

Situated 50 metres from Retretti Train Station and 100 metres from Lake Pihlajavesi, Harjun Portti offers cottage accommodation with a private sauna, fully equipped kitchen and air conditioning. Parking and public area WiFi are free on site. Punkaharju city centre is 9 km away. Punkaharju Nature Reserve is located right next to the resort. We were made very welcome and the chalet conformed to the description. No bad surprises. The chalet was spacious, heated before our arrival and the fireplace allowed us to spend good times inside even though it was -25 outside. The sauna in the chalet was a real plus too. Very close to the lake, the snowshoe or Nordic ski trails, it is a perfect location which gives the feeling of being in the heart of nature while being in the immediate vicinity of a clear traffic route, which is not negligible in extreme cold. I think we will come back if the opportunity arises.

At first we thought it would be boring, but the longer we stayed, the better we enjoyed the stay. And the view from our cottage is amazing. We would definitely stay longer next time.
