Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo – A concept by Hyatt is a luxurious resort located in the Costa Rican jungle near Culebra. It boasts an on-site spa and gym, plus a swimming pool and 3 on-site restaurants. There is also a tennis court, water sports on-site or zip-line between trees and canopies. EVERYTHING!! This hotel is an absolute gem! You feel special there from the moment you drive up to the entrance and are greeted by name till the last second of checking out. My daughter stayed at this hotel for 2 nights 2 months before our visit. When we walked into the lobby the young gentleman Jerson at the front desk immediately recognized her and her son. Not only did he remember them visually - he remembered various details about them! A similar thing happened when we went to the restaurant - the staff there remembered her and her kid! By day 2 of staying there it seemed like every staff member there knew our name and room number, knew what kind of coffee we like for breakfast, and what kind of smoothie our kid prefers at lunch. When my grandson (who already stayed there two months prior) came to the kids club - all the girls there remembered his name and met him with open arms. He loved this kid's club so much - we couldn't get him out of there. It's been a month since we came back and he still keeps asking when we are going to go back there. Every woman in that kid's club is absolutely wonderful - I wish could mention all of them here. On top of that - the grounds, the rooms, the beach house, the restaurants, the views - everything is breathtaking! The service is top-notch. The beach is amazing! Jerson at the front desk, after learning that it was my 70th Birthday, arranged an upgrade for us for a reasonable price and we got one of the best rooms in the hotel! He made our stay super-special and memorable and we are immensely grateful! Monkeys visited us on the beach daily, and activities in the hotel abound - we went on a super-fun electric mountain bike tour around the peninsula. I couldn't imagine a better stay. Thank you, Andaz! We can't wait to be back!

It was not a typical resort. I loved the bungalows, very private feel.

Overlooking Culebra Bay’s spectacular cliffs, this all-inclusive, adults-only complex offers a private beach, 2 freeform swimming pools and a spa. Each stylish room has a balcony with partial views of the bay. Food: The buffet food was the best on location. Lots of variety and all quite tasty. Prepared fresh! The snack bar was also quite good. It was more like a finger food buffet than a snack bar. I have a lot of seller and was able to find a good amount of options. Room/room location: We had two rooms for our group. Both were very nice and comfortable. Comfortable beds, enough towels, clean, amazing view, requested an extra pillow and received it. Our building was pretty far away from the center and we got in a lot of steps, literally up and down a lot of steps! There is a free shuttle service that we used when we were tired of walking. Explore and find the short cuts, it really helps! I was not prepared for the hilliness of the property-country! So many hills and steps, but it was ok, lots of time to enjoy the views. If you are not able to walk request a handicap room that’s closer. Beach: the beach is at the bottom of the property and is quite lovely! There’s no such thing as private beaches in CR, if you can get to it you can use it. This place is out of the way so there was very little additional traffic on the beach. Do not try to take any shells home, they will find them and take them back! Suggestions in response to complaints I read: try to speak some Spanish, it’s fun and the staff will help you more. Be as respectful and kind as you’d like anyone to be with you. Appreciate the culture and vast beauty of the place, you aren’t at home so it shouldn’t feel like home. Its a beautiful experience! Activities: we used the kayaking opportunities, had a massage on the beach, they made some transportation arrangements for us, we used the pools and pool areas once, we mostly took tours and hung out on the beach. The lobby bar had some board games and was a very classy atmosphere. There was music in the lobby some nights, we really enjoyed the saxophonist!

Amazing clean and comfortable. Food was good, service and staff were all so friendly and helpful. Adonis at the bar during the shows was amazing, great attitude and service. Milton at the buffet was so friendly! My daughter and I had an amazing time and relaxation. We did a catamaran and a boat trip to Coco , both were fun. Drinks were good and service was always fast and friendly. Was easy to eat meals at all restaurants, sometimes with a short wait but we went for drinks while waiting. Would go back again!
