This is not a luxury hotel, but it had everything you could want in a room. The property is historically old, so it's no wonder that it isn't modern and luxurious. I never stay at places like that anyway. The town of Newbury is very cute and has more shopping and stores than you would expect a town of 35,000.
Great location, luxury hotel, lovely decor, relaxing spa and outdoor pool, lots of personal touches. Food and wine delicious, although pricey!
The scenery of trees and surrounding hotel garden gave a tranquil atmosphere to the place. Would love to re-visit sometime.
Lovely decor, friendly staff, good food, nice personalised touches, boutique luxury feel. The pantries with complimentary drinks and snacks are a very nice service.
What a lovely surprise ...the staff were all very friendly and helpful..a nice touch to be given fresh milk at check in..the room was unexpected...the decor and cleanliness were fantastic...the copper bath was abit of luxury ..overall the room was very impressive...the food was really well presented and very tasty...Will definitely return
A serene, relaxing, pristine accommodation, in beautiful surroundings. Love the fact that are no TVs in the bedrooms, simplicity, peace, understated luxury. The restaurant is superb. Even before we checked in, we discussed our intention to come back, and have booked for our wedding anniversary in December.
And all the team there are chilled, professional, and attentive, without being intrusive.
A lovely find - very nicely designed rooms in an old pub that has been updated and extended. A midweek stay so quiet and very pleasant. Not only were the rooms beautifully decorated but they had lots of thoughtful touches of luxury including a radio, great coffee making facilities, and a Dyson fan. Our downstairs room also had a small outdoor patio. Breakfast the next morning was pleasant in the conservatory area.
