The Lodge at ChaaCreek, hotel in San Ignacio

This family-run lodge offers a health spa, an eco-friendly swimming pool and unique accommodation with private verandas and jungle views.

Loved everything about the place. Location on a rainforest preserve is fabulous, lots of trails to hike and things to see. Staff is as well trained as any Ritz Carleton. Food was incredible, with much of it grown locally on the nearby farm. We enjoyed the spa, the pool and the peace and quiet.

The Tut family were amazing hosts, very friendly and helpful. They scheduled amazing tours for our family that my teenagers really loved, especially the ATM cave tour. The rooms were great, the food was delicious, and we felt very at ease. Would definitely stay there again.

Cohune Palms River Cabanas, hotel in San Ignacio

Located in Bullet Tree Falls, 6.2 km from Cahal Pech, Cohune Palms River Cabanas provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

Food was delicious and cooked to order, the staff accommodated a vegan diet and astutely picked up on likes and dislikes through our stay. The locations on the river was relaxing and much cooler than in town. We woke to the howler monkeys each morning and saw lots of birds and reptiles during our stay. The staff was incredibly accommodating and there for your every need from planning a day trip to pointing out monkeys traveling through the river so we could see them up close.

Gaia was a truly magical experience. It's very out-of-the-way, but it leans into that feeling while also making every aspect of your stay luxurious and well-catered for. The food is beautifully prepared with a wide variety of styles and flavours. The staff were a delight, and the entire place works around its guests amazingly, always subtly preparing things to make your experience as good as possible. San Ignacio Resort Hotel, hotel in San Ignacio

Just a 5-minute drive from the Cahal Pech Mayan Ruins, San Ignacio Resort Hotel offers an outdoor pool, an spa and fantastic jungle views. The Green Iguana Conservation Project is based on site.

The hotel is a little old style but the staff in general are very friendly, particularly the manager in the dining room. We have 4 adult children and they were able to stay in a room all together which was perfect. The swimming pool and lounge beds are very nice and so is the bar and cocktails. The hotel is located on a hill just outside the town so was an easy walk down into the town.

Everything ! The size of the room, which was well equipped even with Netflix on a big screen TV ! After weeks backpacking it was a luxury ! The private shower with hot water, the AC and the wifi working great, ... everything was perfect ! Sonia accommodated my needs and answered all my questions prior to arriving. And she is one of the kindest person I met in Central America... her big heart warmed mine. Thank you 🙏

The staff picked us up from airport for the 2 hour ride to cahal pech. The staff helped with arranging last minute excursion along with a ride to the airport. The views were amazing, the pool, drinks and food at the resort were also great! The staff was attentive to all our needs for our 2 night stay. We stayed in a bungalow and it was comfortable and quiet. For the price we paid this resort was perfect!

We loved the atmosphere and room. The front desk staff are wonderful as were all the tour guides and their tours. Darwin is a great concierge and we enjoyed Maya fish cooking and natural remedies with Ivan, iguana visit with George, Maya ruins with Cruz, and cave tubing with Wilbur. The desk and restaurant staff are also wonderful. We were able to do every activity directly from the resort and our time at the resort was delightful. The room is spacious and comfortable with great AC when needed. The pool and grounds are wonderful.

Since we are a family of 4 we booked a room with two double beds. The room was quite small and there was only room for two people to sit on the porch. Since renovation was being done to the room next to us and my husband complained about the noise we were upgraded to the garden cottage. I wasn’t too excited about the room but the garden cottage was fantastic for us as a family. The grounds of the resort are stunning and having the choice of swimming in the pool or tubing on the river was luxury. We loved the wildlife around the lodge.

Great personable staff that ensures your comfort at every opportunity. The location still feels close to the downtown area without actually being caught up in the hustle and bustle. Overall this is a great value. If you want an all-inclusive resort go find something else that’ll cost 7 times as much, but if you want a good, clean, and safe place to crash after a long day of touring this is your place.

The property is stunning, nestled between the botanical gardens and the Macal River. The landscaping is gorgeous and the facilities were great. I stayed for 3 days and did not leave the resort. The all inclusive package makes it easy, the food was superb. Staff was wonderful. Laid back atmosphere yet felt high class. Massages were great. Rooms 1-3 will have wifi as they’re next to reception building. The new pool is amazing.
