Hotel in Apia
Located at the base of its namesake Mount Vaea, this family-run hotel is 950 metres from Apia's town centre. Vaea Hotel owners Lupe and Dean were gracious, friendly and informative hosts. They went above being hosts, they made you feel like part of their family rather than just a guest! Always smiling and happy. Breakfast was always fresh and great tasting! Farm fresh eggs done different ways, pancakes, toast, coconut jam, peanut butter, jams, marmalade, a fresh variety of fruit and alot of other good food, some being baked goodies such as coconut filled buns, so yummy! The Samoan coffee was an added bonus of tasting great. In the morning, the setting was peaceful and relaxing with the many flowers, plants and bushes with the birds singing. Dean and his son Shane made very good margaritas, a definate must try! A clean hotel with a lovely family owning and running it. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable and memorable, Gary and Cheryl.

Located in Apia, 2.7 km from Palolo Deep Beach, The White House Hotel provides accommodation with a restaurant and free private parking. Everything! But most of all a wonderful customer service. The girls (in particular Ana and Brenda) were always super friendly and helpful (they welcomed me with a niu and fresh fruits when I arrived on a very hot day, gave me plenty of bottles of water when everything around was closed on Easter etc.). The rooms were great (I stayed there twice) with good AC and fresh breakfast every day.

Moatoga Hotel is a family-owned hotel, situated in the heart of central Apia. Breakfast is okay if only we have a cafeteria for the guests to enjoy their breakfast instead of inside the room coz there's no dinning table except to sit outside the room. Location is nice but we need a bigger parking lot for the guests sometimes we don't have a parking spot. It's unfair for us guests to park on the road and we are paying for the room and to make sure our car is in good hands.

A great base to travel to other destinations around Upolu and Savai'i when exploring Samoa. Apia has a great range of cafes and restaurants for travellers as well as bakeries and eateries for those keen to sample local food. The markets and stores offer a variety of fresh local produce (excellent particularly during mango season) and souvenirs for sale. You can get around Apia rather cheaply by taxi. Taxi fares around Apia range from $3 - $5.
It is the best beach in Upolu. People who goes to the "fales" in that area are likeminded and friendly. Many rent cars so it is very easy for a solo traveller to be given a lift to interesting places to visit. There is a car rental in the village and a car can be rented on daily bases at a reasonable price. All the fees to parks, falls, etc. are very cheap.
Must travel around. Make sure you visit the restraunts and try local food. Visit the Togitogiga Waterfall, the Papapapaitai Waterfall and the Sua Ocean Trench on Upolu. Visit Giordanos Restraunt, Bistro Tatau and see a traditional dance and fire show. Taxis are an easy way to get around.
Not much entertainment especially on the independence week we were there a lot of food and places around upolu to go visit which we end up doing but all and all lovely place to visit
Had a great break in Mulifanua. The proximity to the airport makes this a great place to stay especially if you land late in the day (as I did). It's also great if you plan on getting across to Savaii by the ferry. On the flip side, it's a long drive to get to some of the more interesting parts of Upolu, but if you've got a car, that shouldn't be too hard. Public transport is limited, so its best to hire a car or have your hotel / host set you up with a driver. Also, I didn't really see any options for dining out, so you you might find your self relying on your hotel / host for all your meals.
A beautiful little village with the best beach on the island of Upolu. Easy access to some great waterfalls, smaller islands and the amazing To Sua Ocean Trench. Lalomanu is highly recommended for either a day trip and use of a beach fale, or to stay for extended periods at Litia Sini Beach Fales. Note there are only small corner store type shops in the village and no fuel on the south coast, so stock up in Apia before you arrive. A hire car is best, but you can also use the famous and colourful Samoa buses to get around the island for a small fee. You will also need to pay a small fee to use any village owned areas such as Fales, beaches or tourist attractions. The locals are super friendly and courteous with the community quite conservative overall.

The restaurant had the best food we had in Upolu. Hotel facilities are and outdoors are great. Great location if you are catching the ferry or going to the airport.
Staff - brilliant Was so peaceful The design of the resort Again Staff
We loved the staff - they always provided great customer service. They were always very helpful. They were so good to us. We were well looked after indeed. We loved, the facilities and location - what an amazing place to stay. It's perfect place to really unwind and get away from the business off life. We loved, our room (Waterfront villa. We had the most beautiful view of the water. We loved watching the sun set and rise. We also loved the chef!!! Lol Every meal we had was delicious. We loved every single bit of our stay. We wish we stayed longer.
We were initially put in one of the hotel rooms but then upgraded to a cabin round the green lawn, which was a big improvement - more space and a lot more scenic! Nice big comfortable bed. Two buffet evening meals were very nice - one barbecue, the second Mexican. Lovely sunsets. Reasonable snorkelling (but we've been spoilt in other places!). Very friendly staff, especially Sanjay the Food and Beverage manager, who kept everything in the restaurant working smoothly. Happy to join the Sunday service in the chapel.
The location was very private, peaceful and safe, and beautiful.
