The people in Kearney in all areas such as the restaurants, tourist exhibits were wonderful. The Microtel Hotel made our stay great. My friend and I were there for the Nebraska Senior Games(cycling). We were about a mile from race site and the restaurants were abudent in our area. We ate at Red Lobster and Ruby Tuesdays with great satisfaction. The PATHWAY exhibit over the highway is a must on anyone's list.
I love Omaha. Easy to get around, but I also lived here previously while attending college. Lots of great places to eat and shop, plus it's a great place to stay when there are Nebraska football games at home in Lincoln!
Beatrice is a cute city in Nebraska. I grew up here and always love coming to visit. My favorite places to eat are Runza, Playa Azul, and Shanghai Inn.
Typical Highway town built around locations of places to stay and eat off I80 in Nebraska. Mostly Fast Food, couple Truckstop and Corporate chain style resturants. Midwestern folks and pace.
If you have young kids take them to the small amusement park at Cody Park. The little train park was neat too. Small treasures in small town Nebraska.
This was a stop to make two 10 hour driving days for us on our way. I would like to see some of the museums & the university of Nebraska. State highway 2 north of Kearney is very scenic if you have the time.
Lots to do! Should've stayed longer, there was so much on offer. Was here for the eclipse and found the city to be clean, friendly, beautiful, relaxing. Felt safe. Wonderful Sheldon art museum with some significant works is located on the picturesque university campus in the heart of town. Felt like I was in the best Nebraska has to offer and started to understand the state from a visitors point of view. Everything is easily walkable and clear to locate. Would love to come back and see more art especially the great plains art museum, visit pioneers park to see the wild animals, go up the capitol building (incredible lobby), see the sunken gardens and antelope park, spend more time relaxing on campus, and visit the other many museums. The historic haymarket area is lovely for tourists with all the facilities and old train station, and downtown has some cool bars. Generally a great little city. Bet its buzzing when there's a game or concert on! Very impressed.
They had possibly the best breakfast I've had at a hotel. The staff is very friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great location. Within walking distance of a strip mall, including a wall mart and liquor stores. Close to a lot of restaurants, specifically a ruby Tuesday directly next to the hotel. If you're in town for a Nebraska game, the high school is a block away and provides shuttle services. Otherwise, it is a short drive to the stadium. We will be staying here again!!
The hotel is new and our room was spacious, quiet, and clean. The location is convenient, just off of the Nebraska Parkway with easy access to the Route 2 Warner Expressway to the east and a few miles drive from I-80 in the west. After staying here, I decided to book an AmericInn for our next stop, and was not disappointed. The hotel is close to Walmart, where we purchased some food to eat in the room, and there are some restaurants nearby.
North Platte
Staff is ignorant and incompetent. I booked this room for my son (21+ years old) who was traveling across Nebraska. Room was prepaid but staff would not let my son check in without an additional credit card. So he ended up sleeping in his car. But hotel still charged me for the room. Will never book at a “Quality” Inn again for any purpose.
The location was great! Right in the Haymarket and walking distance of downtown amenities. We visited the Lincoln Children's Museum and ate in local restaurants all without having to jump in a vehicle. Also is right next to the University of Nebraska, which would be great for sporting events or visiting.
North Platte
The best value hotel during our eleven day and four thousand mile road trip, The exterior property was well maintained. The interior of our room was very clean and comfortable. I will stay at The Husker Inn when I m in North Plate, Nebraska. I wish there were more Husker Inn's properties across America.
If you are needing a place to stay in this general area of the Nebraska panhandle, it's the best option. Clean, safe hotel, nice staff. I even went for a run in the morning to the local Bridgeport State Recreation Area which was a nice way to get the day started.
Lincoln
Comfy, affordable place worthy of our 1 night stay. Surroundings around the hotel were not the best (hello gas station and sex shop, I'm looking at you), but definitely an ok place to stop for the night when forced to stay in Nebraska.
When we checked in, there was a problem with the room, but the staff was so accommodating and quickly gave us another room!! If we pass through Sidney, Nebraska again, we will be staying there.
I’ve travel Nebraska frequently and stayed in a lot of hotels (especially Omaha, Lincoln, and Kearney). This is one of the cleanest and quietest across the state. Will definitely go back.

Everything... I had a few hiccups during my stay it was leisure but I was back home in Omaha Nebraska doing a bridal party makeovers over labor day weekend so it was a good balance.
