This restored Madeiran mansion is located 2953 feet from Funchal's Old Town and has scenic views of the sea, the city and the mountains from its own botanical gardens and terraces. We loved staying at this place. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The view from the room and terrace was really beautiful. And the garden around the hotel is very nice and well looked after. The hotel is not far away from the centre, but the neighbourhood is peaceful. We had everything we needed in the room. I highly recommend this place, and I would definitely stay here again.

Renovated in 2018, the 4-star Hotel Alto Lido is located in Funchal’s prime area – Lido, 1.6 mi from the city center. One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Exceptionally nice and helpful staff. Great location with free shuttles to the center. Spacious and clean room, great swimming pool. Breakfast with many choices.
