Immersed in history, the recently-refurbished Solar dos Cáceres dates back to the 15th century. Set in Casal Vasco, 20 km from Serra da Estrela Mountain, it features a bar on site. We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The hotel is at a small and quite village and has beautiful surroundings. The room was very clean, spacious and modern. The breakfast was fantastic, the dinner was delicious and the hotel staff was very welcoming. I definitely recommend the place.

Just a 5-minute drive away from the city of Gouveia, in the slopes of Serra da Estrela Mountain, Madre De Água Hotel Rural de Charme is located in a producing wine, cheese and olive oil farm. The place is lovely, the staff is outstanding! The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, and the breakfast was superb. It was the second time I stayed here and will come again.

Casas da Lapa is a modern hotel ideally situated on a hill top, inside the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela. It is located within a typical mountain village, Lapa dos Dinheiros. Staff were incredibly nice, always willing to go above and beyond to help guests. Property was very pretty and cozy despite being small and in a difficult-to-reach location. Food on the property was fantastic, both at breakfast and at dinner.

Situated in Vila Nova de Foz Coa, 14 km from Longroiva Hot Springs, A Flor da Rosa features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. what an amazing place! Very well presented and nothing no was too much trouble. The owners are great and very friendly. Breakfast was supplied in the house and was great. We will definitely stay here again!

Located in Lajeosa do Mondego, municipality of Celorico da Beira – the Serra Cheese capital – Casas do Durão-Memories House is set at the base of the Estrela Ridge and offers a tranquil stay. A magical place with the family history that is around on the walls through pictures and family tools. The house housed a museum containing antique items that have been useful for the past 200 years. The hospitality was warm and generous and the generous breakfast with the beautiful dishes was a celebration.

Hotel da Vila features free WiFi throughout the property and views of mountain in Manteigas. Each accommodation at the 2-star hotel has city views, and guests can enjoy access to a terrace. This hotel is one which has been recently built or renovated next door to a restaurant and the tourist information centre on the way into the centre on a split level site. Our room was located downstairs from the main entrance and was located away from the main road with a view of the valley. There was free parking adjacent to the property. Breakfast was a good continental buffet which included a number of local cheeses, server three floors down in a room with a view of the lower valley. There was a selection of restaurants at various price points within a short distance of the hotel in addition to the more up market one next door (we tried The central for cheaper local food). The tourist information centre next door is worth a visit to get free walking route maps (using the European coloured flash way markers) in various languages distributed by a very helpful gentleman. There are a couple of supermarkets and bakery for picnic food.

Longroiva Hotel Rural offers free WiFi throughout the property and rooms with air conditioning in Longroiva. Our large room on the third floor had a little terrace with a view of a mountainside. We loved sitting and listening to the variety of birds, even a cuckoo! I did morning yoga in a special meditation room. They also had a kids play area, pool table/game area and quiet desk - all indoors with nature view. The heated outdoor pool with massaging jets was incredible after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was excellent with great views from large windows. The beds were comfy and the room temperature control was very responsive. The staff were so courteous and helpful. They gave us a 20% off voucher for the Quinta Vale de Aldeia which led us to take their marvelous tour and tasting. There aren't enough stars for this hotel.
