Charming Bach house on a farm 5 min from Hobbiton. Very well stocked and the host was so friendly and accommodating. Best of all was Ludo the dog who decided we were part of the family. Very charming!

It was an outstanding experience to stay with housewithnonails. The house itself is a true miracle, and Jen's hospitality is the top of all. Walnut Lodge B&B offers accommodation in Matamata. Every room at this bed and breakfast is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. Walnut Lodge is situated on a gorgeous rural property, about 15 minutes from Hobbiton. The apartment is super clean and well stocked. Michael and Mia were friendly and welcoming and invited us to explore the gardens (unfortunately, the rainy weather prevented us from doing so, but I loved seeing the camellia hedge in full bloom). Breakfast was just right (fresh bread, homemade breakfast cookies, cereal selection, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, and tea) and I especially enjoyed the loaf of freshly baked bread (which we toasted) smeared with butter, jam, or peanut butter. Parking is directly adjacent to the building, and Michael even invited us to charge our EV overnight. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Built in 1977, The Nunnery is located in central Te Aroha and offers a guest lounge and a shared patio with BBQ facilities. It is a 2-minute walk from the Te Aroha Mineral Spas. Great location for accessing hiking and mineral pools.
