Newly built & open since September, 2022, this hotel was most notable for its very contemporary decor and amenities, such as a heated bathroom floor, heated bathroom towels, large shower stall, water conserving bathroom faucet, 4 USB charging outlets in the room (2 at the bedside), extremely comfortable king sized bed, phenomenal room views of Lake Tekapo and its surrounding snow-capped mountains, not to also mention the complimentary milk & coffee for the room. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful & professional.

Set in Mount Cook National Park, The Hermitage Hotel features a range of rooms and suites all offering majestic mountain views, and most with views of Mount Cook. Great to wake up with the view of Mount Cook in front of you. The dinner buffet, which is paid additionally, is good and with great variety. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed!

The Godley Hotel offers country-style accommodation in the alpine village of Lake Tekapo on the South Island. The hotel is centrally located in the village with views of the lake and mountains. Incredible location and great facilities. Well worth it!

MacKenzie Country Hotel is located in Twizel, in the heart of the Aoraki Mount Cook and MacKenzie Country Region. It offers modern rooms with picturesque views of the surrounding mountains. Very friendly staff. Loved the log fire in the bar and the smorgasbord dinner was.yummy.

The Heritage Gateway Hotel is situated in Omarama, at the crossroads of MacKenzie Basin, Lindis Pass and Waitaki Valley. It offers panoramic views and excellent hiking and biking opportunities. Hot breakfast buffet was the best we had on our trip to New Zealand. Can’t say enough how great the staff was!

Aoraki Court Motel is a modern accommodation located in Aoraki Mount Cook National Park. All units feature great views of surrounding mountains and Mount Sefton. This is a very nice, clean and comfortable place to stay for Mount Cook tracks. You won’t regret to choose it. Can choose to cook inside the room’s kitchen if you bring food into the village, however, you can also choose to go to the bar and grill nearby.

Situated in Lake Tekapo and only 44 km from Mt. Dobson, Flat Rock features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property has garden views. This was a great place in Lake Tekapo. The community was quiet, the kitchen was fully equipped, the bathroom nice and had a wonderful hot shower with high pressure, and the beds were SO comfy and had a much-needed heated pad. We had a car so it was a 4-minute drive to Four Square grocery (where you can walk to the Tekapo waterfront), but we also walked, and it took about 20-25 minutes, so depending on what you'd prefer, it's still reasonably close for those without a car. One thing to note, but not necessarily a bad thing, they do have a washer, but only a drying rack. This didn't bother me, but just wanted to let others know. Overall the stay was very cozy and I would absolutely come back here.
