The excursions are well worth it. Herman our guide taught us a great deal about the local wildlife. Seeing the desert elephants was a holiday highlight. He also took us to visit Twyfelfontein in the afternoon, it was quiet and a wonderful way to appreciate the stones. Again his knowledge was exceptional. The tents are very comfortable with a shower, toilet and WiFi. The food is all freshly cooked on site and the best we’ve had in Namibia.

Located in Damaraland, Huab Lodge & BushSPA is surrounded by lush vegetation. It features a swimming pool and a natural thermal spring. It has a bar and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking. Great remote location! The owner offers a lot of excursions to explore the area.

Located 25 km from Khorixas, Gondwana Damara Mopane Lodge offers accommodation set in a semi-circle of interlinking pathways with a swimming pool at the centre. Cottages are separate in their own little yards. Large room. The yards grow vegetables which the lodge uses for the meals. Staff are very good. Delicious buffet with game meat and a variety of vegetables. Maria, the server, was very good. Breakfast buffet is also good with a nice variety including hot food.

Featuring an outdoor pool and mountain views, Madisa Camp is located in Kalkbron. This property offers access to a patio and free private parking. Great location for Twyfelfontein and Brandberg. Staff and management very welcoming, good prepared dinner as we didn't want to self cater. Nice rugged surroundings but accessible for 2wd vehicle.

3 ALOES GUESTHOUSE is a recently renovated apartment in Uis, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. A huge room, lots of furniture, more like an apartment really. Very comfortable, modern room surrounded by a desert garden with terrific view across the desert and to the nearby mountains. Brandberg Mountain can be clearly seen. Excellent breakfast. Owner and staff are very welcoming and helpful. Ideal base for visiting the White Lady painting site.

Atmosphere, nice courtyard, close to our first himba village, close to grocery store. We loved outside bathroom with starry sky.

Ideal location for us between Swakopmund (via the Cape Cross seal colony then Spitzkoppe) half way to the Etosha Galteni Gate. Beautiful room with polished concrete surfaces and copper piping (as in architectural magazines), lovely to experience. Exceptional hosts, friendly and interesting. Fascinating to hear first hand of farming in Namibia. As we arrived at 7 pm, David rang a great restaurant for us for a tasty supper and walked us there ( round the corner), himself. Annicka is very artistic and has lavished their B&aB with love.

If you want to have a relaxing chill few days having a drink, hanging out by the pool, sitting by the fire, all while watching amazing animals (rhinos giraffes antelopes) at the same time, Ugab farm is a perfect spot – so unique! It’s comfortable, clean, stylish and at the same time you get an inside look at what it is like to run a farm! The owner of the farm is super welcoming, food is great, rooms are modern and spotless. The farm offers game drives and other activities, unless you want a break and just relax – you are in the middle of the desert! We loved it!

Set in Kamanjab, Ondundu Lodge offers accommodation with free private parking. Some accommodation includes a terrace with mountain views, a fully equipped kitchenette and a private bathroom with... Ondundo Lodge has a beautiful, quiet setting. As we drove in there was a lot of elephant dung and we were so excited hoping to see some. Unfortunately, they didn't make an appearance, but the excitement of maybe seeing them was great. The dinner and breakfast have a set menu and the dinner was one of the best of our stay. The ambience felt, and the food tasted, like a five-star restaurant. They have an absolutely stunning building for their reception and restaurant/bar. We happened to be the only guests staying at the lodge, and the owner and his wife were the ones that served us in their beautiful open-air restaurant. The luxury tents are comfortable, the attached bathrooms were very clean, and the showers were wonderful with good hot water and pressure. They have a gorgeous pool next to the lodge. This is an extremely serene environment and absolutely quiet and still.
