A peaceful place which is a suburb of the Johor state capital (Johor Bahru). Skudai is most renowned to be the home of the well known Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. It is not have its own attractions however it can be a cheap area to stay instead of the expensive and crowded Johor Bahru. Skudai is just 20 Km away from there. People are quite used to deal with foreigners in this area because of the numerous international students that live around the university. Myself I spent several years living there and I almost never needed to go downtown. Everything you may ever need is there, especially peace.
It was a business trip so could not explore any tourist place. Best is it is border to Singapore. Security is a bit concern in Johor Bahru. Have heard of pic pocketing and some petty crimes. So there is a fear in the mind of tourists.
Mersing is the one of the most prestigious district in johor. As the gateway to the vacation amongs tourist rather local tourists or foreign tourists. Recommended to fulfill your vacation plan.

I hv seen Johor now has been progressing very well. If only restaurants & food outlets that catered for muslim cud display "HALAL" signage will be very helpful.
Not many food able to select if you're not driving. Had to relying on Cab/UBER/GRAB which will cost extra 50% return trip of what you'll spent at the mall/restaurant. IKEA not well opened, but cafeteria was good. Love the Almond Cake. UTC Galleria is nearby the City, helpful during emergencies. Movie ticket at City Square is quite costly compared to GSC & TGV. Legoland ? Damn far from cities, so and Johor Premium Outlet but the JPO does met international standards and it's nearby to the Airport.
Johor is perfect place to travel, the food is delicious. I only have time to bring my son to the zoo. The price is cheaper. I wish i could stay longer and go to the other place like forest city, hello kity and alsi lego land
Some of the tourist attraction like danga bay,kilang bateri and bazar karat was way beyond expectation..those place are in poor condition,worst parking place and lame.recommend to visit zoo johor.only rm2 per entry..quite a number of animal there but the facility in poor condition due to lack of maintenance..overall jb is quite a nice place to visit rather than malacca or penang.worst in traffic.
I personally greatly disliked Johor Bahru but then again we stayed in what seemed like the middle of nowhere, and it felt quite intimidating. There wasn’t anything to do where we were except for a weird old fair that was half shut and just plain creepy.
I love Johor Bahru.. Everything was great.. A lot of shopping complex, easy to find a great place to enjoy a good food.. But I think need more place for kids activity especially around the city center..
Stay here quite often as it offers a good stay and play rate during the week. Great location for the airport and for shopping at Johor Premium Outlet. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is huge so expect to see maintenance but that is a good thing. Do be sure to ask for a plug in mosquito repellent or simply bring your own. The proximity to the golf course and it’s water hazards is a great environment but of course it also attracts mosquitoes. Will always stay here whilst it is good value for money.
The location was super. Just above KOMTAR / City Square, easy for travellers. The check-in was smooth and quick, room was very spacious and clean. We loved it a lot. No doubt, this hotel will be my #1 choice for my future Johor trips. Previously I had chosen a double bedroom but the staff helped me to change to two single beds room after my request thru Booking.com, helpful and thankful. Surprisingly the shower area was very spacious, design is very simple yet you have everything you need.
Next to / Walking distance to various shops (cafes, family restaurants, groceries, furniture, clothing, sports, books, big cinema & family parks (outdoor & indoor)). A lot of parking space, clean hotel, speed internet / wifi, helpful staff (check in, check out & room) & takes less than 10 minutes to reach Legoland, Puteri Harbour & Iskandar Puteri Town. This is going to be 1 of my family top place to stay when visit Johor Bahru / Nusajaya.
As usual,very good service at reception .Hotel staff very welcoming and friendly.Check in was super fast. Hotel room and bathroom was clean ,big and spacious. Well equipped kitchen with microwave.Truly one of the best hotel at JB city. This was probably my 10th times check in here whenever i came to Johor. Breakfast buffet was great with varieties And Another best part of this hotel there is even a launderette to wash clothes and a dryer at Level 1
The location is close to Legoland Theme Park, and our primary purpose to visit Johor Bahru was to visit Legoland. There is a shuttle bus service to Legoland Park. We tried local Malaysian food in one of the restaurants at dinner, which was amazing. Buffet breakfast was good, but more variety needs to be added. We booked 2 bedrooms apartment and its size was great for a family of four. Overall, stay was comfortable.

Overall acceptable stay for 2 nights in Forest City Johor Malaysia for this price. Besides the balcony, the apartment was cosy and nice for 2 nights' short trip. Good for small family or groups who may like to cook and do laundry. ( We did not cook and wash but there's a small electric stove and washing machine)
Very good budget hotel for short term visit. I was visiting singapore in a low budget. So i have to stay in johor. Since hotel price in SG is 10× more. Stay for 2 nights just for sleeping & bathing. Near to Larkin Sentral Clean and no mosquito. Room not so hot even with fan because has exhaust fan in the room.

I love everything about Prestigo Hotel. I and my wife stayed 14 nights here and it was amazing. The staff are courteous and friendly, they helped with all we needed from them. It's a place we will definitely be the next time we visit Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

Love the location as it is away from the busyness of Johor Sentral. The hotel is near some shopping centre such as Angsana. Not only that, but the hotel is also connected to Paradigm Mall. Finding food will not be an issue.
I like the location as it's near to the Johor Premium Outlet, which is only btwn 10-15mins drive. I really think the hotel should consider providing a shuttle to the Outlets to attract more people staying at the hotel.
The cleanliness and location are great. It's right in front of the airport. We stayed there to be close to Johor Premium Outlet and it was just a short drive. Very modern and up to date hotel
