We have been travelling in Iceland for 3 weeks and have stayed in some outstanding (plus a couple of not quite outstanding) accommodations. The Lake House is by far our favourite. The view from the conservatory and the deck were exceptional. We decided to take a ‘rest day’ here to just enjoy the view, the peace and the hot pot. It was great having access to coffee, herbs and spices left by the owners to use in our meal prep. Access was very easy with the lockbox. The heating was already on for us which was greatly appreciated. Btw I loved the swans in the pond. 😂

This property is near Akranes Harbour and 1.3 km from Akranes Museum Centre. It offers a pretty, hedged garden and a large, furnished terrace. Wi-Fi and parking are free. Owners of Teigur Guesthouse are amazing. Lovely couple, warm, caring and friendly people. The atmosphere and comfort they provide are beyond any expectations. They really share their own home and soul with their guests. It was extremely an pleasant and unique experience.

A bit remote from the city centre. It is convenient to have a car to reach this beautiful nice unique cottage house. We can see Aurora Borealis there just outside the house when we stayed there in Nov2023

Bard Cottage has spoiled me for the rest of my trip - it‘s the coziest cabin one could imagine. Surrounded by trees and a little garden it is completely secluded and a perfect get-away. Just a 10min drive from Borgarnes makes it perfect to both exploring the region and Snæfellsness peninsula as well as a stop before heading north or westwards. It comes with a perfectly and fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and a private hot tub. Furthermore it comes with all the little details that add up to a wholesome experience and make it special - a cozy sitting area and huge window front to observe the outside world and maybe Auroras while being all warm and tucked inside. There’s a Yoga mat for use, books, a TV - in short, Bard Cottage really feels like a home away. :) The hosts provided me with lots of valuable tips, where always reachable and provided me with great solution during the coldwave that hit during my stay. 100% recommend to stay, I‘ll definitely come back :)

Boasting garden views, Móar Cottage provides accommodation with patio, around 43 km from Hallgrímskirkja Church. The property has mountain and lake views, and is 43 km from The Pearl. Creatively designed interior. All that we needed was in the cottage. Great value for little money. Key was waiting in a key box, so we didn't have to rush during the day. Clean. The road nearby was not problematic.
