ate only at foxhills club. visited herons bonsai at surrey hills, excellent bonsai gardens run by dr. peter chan, a must visit. saw the virginia lake area, very nice. great for groups as there are all sport activities.
Chiddingfold is a lovely little village within easy reach of many places around the Surrey / Hampshire areas. There's not much in the way of shops, but for a relaxing break it's brilliant.
We loved Guilford...so much more than London. Lots of foot traffic and lots of shopping and pubs and farmers markets and...and...and really just great. University of Surrey is nice. Flexlets are abundant and nice. Everything is within walking distance. There are rolling hills all around it. Easy to get to from London train. A must visit!
It is a lovely place and we lived in Hindhead, Surrey for a year only moved for personal reasons but miss the lovely school in Haslemere and our friends which we regularly keep in touch with.
Box hill and Newlands corner give amazing view of the Surrey Hills. As always research the area first and have a plan. Take a look at the surrounding towns eg Godalming and Woking
Woking is a building site at the moment. Will look good when completed. Surrounding areas good. Wisley gardens. Virginia Water. Windsor. Surrey hills. All in easy reach as is heathrow and Gatwick airport. Guildford good for shopping not far from woking town. Lots of places to eat and drink.
Lovely town, great walk along the river with good pubs. Nice shops, as well as all the usual high street ones. Negative is that traffic is very heavy at all times and most eating places are expensive (but probably because it is Surrey!)
Goldleming is classic Surrey, a healthy mix of old and new, excellent range of small interesting shops but with a few of the well known chains, ensuring you can find everything. Good range of food and drinking options too
Our daughter is at University of Surrey and so we visit her quite often. But we would come here anyway. It’s a vibrant town, lots of great shops and the high street is lovely. So much history and some very modern aspects. Love the cobbled streets and alleyways. Some fantastic places to eat and drink too. Castle, museum and cathedral are all certainly worth a visit. Can’t wait to visit again.
The room was comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was good with a selection of hot and cold choices. Orange and apple juice were both very watery, but the assistant set out to rectify the problem as soon as she was made aware of it. All staff were pleasant, welcoming and helpful. The location is not only great for the races, it also serves as a good base for visiting Surrey and the south east counties as well as close proximity to London.
Located in the rural Surrey countryside and a good base from which to explore the south. Also half an hour by train to central London. Pretty grounds and walking distance to the village. Nice layout with pool, gym, bar, restaurant. Took advantage of a great buffet dinner and the next morning a buffet breakfast. The staff were superb - with a shout out to the many easy going Aussie expats working there.
The hotel offered a good, quiet stay for one night. Its location is lovely. It is quite rare to be by a lake in Surrey. The room was quite good, Not stunning but no problems either. The dinner was quite good as well. The overall score of 8 on this site seems to me to capture the place quite well. I should also say that there are some lovely walks nearby, beautiful heath land with the heather in full flower.
I have stayed here several times and as a location for the work I do it is perfect with easy access to main roads in 4 mins without being in a budget hotel next to a petrol station/ motorway The car park has no height restriction for vans and tall vehicles (which is a problem elsewhere in Surrey) Late check-in is also not an issue (which again is a problem elsewhere I have tried)
Very modern and stylish hotel. Great location for train station to travel around Surrey. Rooms exceptionally clean and have a modern train style. Bathroom was very nice. Simple checking in and out process. Rooms well equipped with tea making facilities and Nespresso. Comfy beds. The hotel is also a steakhouse which serves brilliant food. Would stay again.
Larger than expected hotel, it was like a labyrinth with corridors and stairs going in all directions, I even got lost going upstairs when I should of gone along a corridor then upstairs, there were signs ! Lovely original features. We had a lovely view (over the car park) of the Surrey Hills. Good size room Shower was good.
Farnham
We liked everything about this beutifull hotel.Unfortunately we had to leave to early in the morning to try breakfast, but we were offered fruit and cereal as an alternative, which we appreciated. The setting is amazing in the Surrey Hills and an hour away from Gatwick Airport and an hour away from London.Lots of car parking,
I always book this hotel when I go to Surrey. Location is very good, free parking, the rooms are very well equipped, clean, spacious, breakfast very good, lots of choices, food at the restaurant is amazing, staff are welcoming, very helpful and responsive. I will definitely recommend
A treat and retreat! Beautiful tranquil surroundings, forest walks, lovely wines, farm shop, staff and gorgeous, cute hotel. A special thank you to Flori who went out of her way to look after me, I didn’t want to leave! Highly recommend this Surrey hills gem of a place.
Farnborough
I have Stayed at the Saco about 10 times now. I find it so simple to book, check in and have the freedom to do whatever due to it being more an apartment not just a room. love this place will use it for all future trips to Surrey.
Welcomed by the lovely reception team and the location is great. Ideal for the races or a trip to Surrey hills or south West London. Hotel is right by the high street with lots of good restaurants.
Location is excellent, so close to Blackdown, Haslemere and Surrey Hills walks , breakfast was excellent as was staff attentiveness.
Esher
The location in Esher, old English Town in Surrey. The food was very good as usual. The bedroom was comfortable bit small.
This hotel is in a great location and one of a kind in Surrey! The breakfast is amazing and the bar is also very nice.
The location of the hotel is great. We were upgraded to a larger room with a fantastic view of the Surrey countryside.
I Have stayed at this hotel a number of times and Its the only place I will stay at while visiting family in Surrey.
Dorking
It was a lovely apartment. Great location easy access to Dorking, trains and buses. Nice view of Surrey Hills
Great location for the University of Surrey, comfortable room, very good breakfast, and pool with sauna.
