This 17th century coaching house is set in the quaint village of Stilton. With a history dating back to the 1500s, it offers charming accommodation with a stylish restaurant, bistro and cosy bar. The atmosphere delivered by sleeping in a refurbished 17th century style ex coaching station is just amazing. Old stone walls, wooden floors and ceilings and plenty of live fireplaces do make you travel in time. However, this hotel is offering everything you need - top facilities and a very soft bed to take a good nights sleep. I also enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the same place - a 11 out of ten rating. Good food, friendly and caring staff - that all made me feel at home far away from my home! Good Job!

Deeping Stage has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Market Deeping. We had a lovely stay at the stage last night. Our room was lovely and comfortable and the bar had a great atmosphere. The owner was friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Situated in Peterborough and with Burghley House reachable within 15 km, Black Horse features a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar. I ended up at the Black Horse after being stranded at Peterborough due to an LNER situation - I tried booking hotels in town and they had run out of spaces so I randomly chose a reasonably priced one that was accessible - which ended up being the Black Horse. It looked very nice from the photos and lived up to this image - it's a gorgeous place - an old-fashioned inn with a restaurant, bar and rooms, beautifully decorated. The young woman on duty who checked me in (I can't remember her name but she was great) was extremely welcoming, reassuring and accommodating. The dinner was exceptional - the best gluten-free fish and chips I have tasted! (Coeliacs should check if the tartare sauce is gluten free though) It was great to be so warm and well-fed in such a nice environment after being stuck on the train and then a cold platform for several hours. I'd definitely recommend this place. My room was large and comfortable with space to work and a really good shower. They even let me work remotely the next morning teaching music online no bother! (In fact I got a round of applause from the locals in bar next door when I finished :D) Altogether very friendly, comfortable, amenable and relaxed place. The young bar staff were also great - relaxed, resourceful and accommodating. I'd definitely choose to stay here if I was in the area again, absolutely.

The Delta Hotels by Marriott Peterborough is opposite and close to the A1. Large rooms are en suite and there are excellent leisure facilities including a pool and gym. Really comfortable and spacious rooms which are well equipped and very clean. Good beds and plenty of towels and toiletries. The hotel has a lovely spa, with a well designed pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, as well as loungers for reading. Breakfast was also plentiful and varied. big and convenient car park too, as well as polite and courteous staff.
