A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. Everything! Such a great. relaxing and special place to stay. We planned to eat out in Keswick some evenings as we were staying for 3 nights. However we couldn’t drag ourselves away as the food was all fantastic. We also loved the way that dogs were treated. They could go everywhere too. They even had a sink outside for muddy paws with warm water and fresh towels.

The hotel and grounds were far more picturesque than we anticipated and it is perfectly situated in Keswick with an easy walk into town and to the start of most walks and Derwentwater. Our room was lovely and although not modern and up to date perfectly reflected the building and its surroundings and everything worked and was clean. The restaurant for breakfast was great and there was more than enough options with a lovely view across the lawn.

Cottage is in a perfect position for short walk to Keswick enjoying r a longer walk round the lake where you get to Keswick to.The catbells are within easy walking. Lovely farmers arms pub in the village for a meal also Derwentwater Hotel we didn't eat here but had a wee drink.Chalet cafe in village for lunch or meals until 5pm lovely scones .while on the walk round the lake you come to Mary mount Hotel had lovely lunch in there.
We only stayed for one night celebrating my birthday, the room was bright, modern and the view was superb. Bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. Food was top class both dinner and breakfast. All the staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful from start to finish. The hotel is situated on the lake with a launch stop to Keswick only 2 minutes walk away. I’ve already booked my next stay, that says it all

I loved the excellent location of the hostel (within 1/4 of a mile of the town centre) as well as the excellent staff. There was always plenty of activities to partake in, due to the location of Keswick : ) I was especially surprised to discover that I was the only person occupying my bedroom (due to the time of my stay, a week before the busy Easter holidays and that my room came with a very good en-suite bathroom.
Great location in the town centre. The breakfast was delicious and definitely amazing value for money. The hotel is also very dog friendly, there were some bowls and dog bed waiting for us upon check in. Also, they provided dog towels upon request - quite handy considering how muddy & rainy the dogs might get there. Lovely place overall, will be staying here again when we’re back in Keswick that’s for sure!
Wonderful character property, lovely staff, peaceful lakeside location. Dale, the manager is a top bloke, he made my stay even better. Really looking forward to coming back again this year, thank you. The hotel is not too far from Keswick or Ambleside, but it is tucked away nicely, right on the shores of lake Thirlmere. If you are looking for peace & quiet, but somewhere close to a town, this is the place.
The location is perfect for local walks, from a short ride from Keswick even by bus. The room was very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The hotel restaurant is just a delight, the food is absolutely delicious and the breakfast is also top notch. The staff is very friendly and very good in making you feel welcomed and taken care off. I would definitely come back and would definitely recommend it.
Hotel is beautiful and clean with lots of character inside. Comfy and welcoming. Had a single room which was spacious for my needs and the shower was great. Staff were friendly but professional and a credit to the hotel. The location is great set between keswick and Grasmere and a great base for climbing Helvellyn. Had breakfast and an evening meal and both were great.... as was the stout....
Top notch apartment 5 minutes walk from Keswick marketplace. Clean, comfortable, well equipped. Great kitchen with loads of crockery, cutlery, pans etc. There was even washing up liquid, cling film etc. Comfy beds, plenty of hot water and great spacious bathroom. Parking space just out the back. Nice views from sitting room bay window. Would definitely stay again.

The apartment was absolutely beautiful! Really big rooms, with a fabulous kitchen with everything you need. Location was great only a 10 minute walk in Keswick which has loads of great places to eat and drink. Ashley and Steven were exceptional hosts! The size of the apartment were to our delight a lot bigger than we expected. The bedrooms were very spacious with more than adequate storage for clothes etc. The bathroom was exceptionally clean as were all the rooms. The view out of the room window was of the river running through Keswick making it very relaxing.

The location is exceptional, close to Keswick attractions and Derwent Water. Bassenthwaite Lake is just a footpath away. The hotel is extremely dog friendly and four legged guests brighten the place even more. Breakfast options are great for even fussy eaters such as myself.

Perfect location, super easy to walk into Keswick town. Apartment was cosy but dated but this was showed on pictures . Good on site parking. Really appreciated there being foil and cooking oil and fresh washing up equipment being left. Kitchen was well equipped.
Both the hotel and the location were great! Keswick is a quaint, beautiful place and there’s lots to do. We spent a lot of time hiking in the Lake District and the hotel prepared delicious picnic lunches for us in advance.
Breakfast was superb and they catered for a dairy free diet. The staff were very helpful and did all we could expect. Location was good and the bus stopped outside the hotel for Keswick which we used.
